I`m having a weird problem with my adsl line.It works fine when I`m not on the phone.The minute I receive a call the connection(ADSL) will be lost. I only get reconnected when I change filters.I have about five filters that I recycle through. I have the ADSL nation XF 1e, Fujitsu excelsior FDX100-UK filters.BT came to check the line and found no problem with it. However, I could sometimes hear the modem dialling out on the phone line. I really do not know what else to do. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I RECENTLY INSTALLED MY SIMS 2 GAME, HOWEVER WHEN I PICK THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT I CHOOSE TO PLAY IN, THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOADS UP AND THEN WHEN IT FINISHES, IT FREEZES UP AND IT MAKES THIS REALLY ANNOYING BUZZING SOUND AND WHEN I PRESS CTRL AND ALT AND DELETE NOTHING HAPPENS, THE MOUSE DOESN’T EVEN MOVE AND IT NEVER UNFREEZES IT JUST STAYS THE WAY IT IS AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN STOP IT IS IF I PUSH THE POWER OFF BUTTON ON MY COMPUTER…SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I HAVE A TV SHOW ON YOUTUBE WITH THE SIMS 2 AND I NEED TO HAVE THIS THING WORK OR ELSE IM RUINED. If you’re not a techie – PLEASE don’t bother – - – this ones’ a dousy (please don’t tell me to go see a screwup nosebleed at bestbuy or the likes!)

- Maxtor HD FULL LLF (maxtor disk checked for virii)
- Fresh Win2k disk (cracked it outta the cellophane)
- SP4 installed from CD (checked for virii)
- IE6 SP1 installed from CD (checked for virii)
- Internet set up (PPPoE)
- Connect directly to windowsupdate and update to latest
- Sysworks installed (factory disk) and latest virius updates done online
- GOT A VIRUS on first check (W32.Spybot.Worm) – - -checked and removed… HOW??? I don’t know.
- Connect computer to domain.
- When at logon screen, admin shares (IPC$, ADMIN$, C$, D$) work fine. As soon as I logon to ANY profile (roaming profiles on NT4 server), after about 20 seconds ALL the admin shares disappear.

I have a feeling it’s a residual of the spybot worm but how did it get there in the first place?

I think I asked for non-techs to abstain … that first answer showed ignorance if nothing else! Sysworks is SYMANTEC Systemworks as in SYMANTEC NORTON ANTIVIRUS plus extras. Puhleeze!!!!!!
I even tried stopping and starting the SERVER service in the services.msc console – it lasts less than a minute before all the shares disappear again!

Here we go. I’m fixing my friend’s dell (windows xp). It had some viruses and I cleaned it up in regular operation mode, then again in safe mode and removed 4 infected files. Today when the virus scan was running I was able to access the internet, then ever since it says there is a corrupted/deleted file in the winsock catalog and it has limited or no connectivity. So, I tried running the diagnostic for internet explorer and it reset it, but that didn’t work. Tried searching the winsock fix manually in “search” and it reset it, but that didn’t work. Then I tried going into command prompt and typing in the key words and it reset it again, but still didn’t work. The wisock repair didn’t work, but it still won’t let me go online and keeps asking me to reset, then restart, but it still won’t work. Is the antivirus not doing the job and getting all those viruses out or something? What’s going on? Not sure how up to date her security is. Can’t access antivirus software online either? help!!

Before I start, Ill answer all the obvious questions. I have ran different, high rated, non rogue antispy, antivirus, adware, hacker,
etc. Nothing comes up on the free ones, and nothing comes up with the paid ones. I have Zonealarm suite 2006 for a firewall, and windows firewall is on, though its not very good.

Ok, I have no idea what this is. It started about a month ago, and its done it ever since. Everytime I open something, regardless of what it is, (Calculator, Paint, VLC, Windows Media Player, etc.) Zonealarm pops up (Because I have it on a high setting so it tells me when anything does anything), and says the program that I just opened is trying to delete this. Aka, “Ad-Aware SE Core application is trying to remove a driver or service:” then it shows

“EVENTLOG\APPLICATION\MICROSOFT H.323 TELEPHONY SERVICE PROVIDER”

I looked it up but I cant find anything on it. Its getting really annoying, and its slightly worrying me, because I have no idea what this is.

It works when i put this #include

How come!

Recently I’ve been having disconnection problems. I’m using a Netgear DG834G wireless router. And sometimes every now and again, my internet connection will disconnect on its own for no reason. Today was the worst as I couldn’t have any hope on reconnecting for even 5 minutes. I’ve done every single thing possible to fix it, but it’s still the same. My ISP is AOL (UK). Now, I know that a lot of people think AOL is the worst ISP ever – I know it is. But I won’t switch because I’ve been with them for so long that I just can’t leave my email address. So, anyone who answers, please leave answers such as “switch from AOL”, “AOL is the worst ISP ever” out of it. The weirdest thing is that the green light on my router is on, meaning the internet is connected… but I’m not. I configured my router from 192.168.0.1 several times – changing the PPP connection from PPPoE to PPPoA, checked all cables, full system scan – everything possible and nothing works. Then out of the blue at 8pm it’s on.
So, out of the blue at about 8pm, the internet works again for no reason. I have no idea what could be causing this problem. Sometimes it does this, and some other times it rarely does it for weeks.
By the way, when I say that it’s back at about 8pm – I meant today. Normally if this ever happens, the time at where it reconnects varies.
The router came with AOL broadband…
