ISP / DSL troubleshooting / modem issue??
I do technical support for DSL and there is one recurring issue which most of our team mates are unable to fix in a dsl modem. For pppoe connections, when we create a connectoid in the modem updating the account name and password, the modem doesnt not connect and gives an error “Request timed out”. When we create a manual pppoe connection from the computer( xp) we see the error msg “Error 678″. Most of these cases get escalated as we see no issue while we run the line test. No one knows where exactly the issue lies. Can anyone advice?? Thanks for all your help.
