I’m trying to activate the CAT5 ports in my house and I bought a patch panel to punch down the CAT5 wires into. I don’t want to spend another $50 on a tool. Is it possible to punch down the CAT5 wires into the patch panel using my fingers? or just another thin-pointed object and shove the wires into the patch panel?

Hi, I recently acquired a router, just a cheap one (SWR54BGA), and it seems to me that I am losing internet speed.
Is there a tool, software, that can help you keep the network monitored, so you know what is going on?

I currently don’t use the wireless part, I just have the router (IP 1) connected to the PC (IP 2) and a media player+TV (IP 3)

I would like to know what is going on. Ping is giving me pretty fast answers, but seems like the browser and messengers don’t have the speed that I had before this setup (I have PPPoE)

I’ve checked that there are interfaces like CARSOFT and BENZ STAR with multiplexers well used for diagnosing MB’s with 38 socket. My question is, Is there a hand held diagnositc tool that can do the same job. abs, airbag,transmission…?
The thing is it the carsoft is expensive and the clone one from china as i have read cant be reliable, interface and software…..help me out.. thanx

So my dumb dog bit into my 200ft Cat5 cable and now I need to know if I can re-thread the cap without using a crimping tool. Is it possible and if so does anybody know how? Thanks a lot.

i just got a 100 foot ethernet cable and one of the ends just busted right off. i have wire sheers but no crimping tool. the plug module thingys are only like 88 cents but the cripming tools are like 17 to 49 bucks. is there a way to get the plug module on without this tool?

I just got this tool from China today and I need to attach the 8 Cat5 wires to the receptacle of a wall plate/keystone jack that I also purchased. This tool did not come with any instructions, does anyone know how to use it? There are no moving parts on it as far as I can tell, no scissor-like cutting, crimping, nothing.
