My ADSL connection has become very slow now. technicians said its bcoz im too far from the server.. Does any one know about an alternate way or device to speed it up?? is there some kinda repeater like thing??plz help..

Im thinking to study mechatronics for bachelors but im not sure if I could get a job in Saudi Arabia, or is Telecommunication engineering better????

I have a large file on one of my computers (3.88 GB – I don’t have a flash drive large enough for this nor an external hard drive) and I wanted to transfer it to another of my computers.
Is there a way to connect my computers using an ethernet patch cable, not a crossover cable?

ok.. i got a 3meg dsl connection and speed test.net said i get around 2.8-3 megs..
but my download speeds are around 350kb/s…????
ive got a good system, higher end cables like cat6 instead of cat5e..
SOO i MUST be missing some obvious thing? at first i thought well maybe theyre servers slow? but i added another download to the mix and it basicaly devided the 350kbs between the two downloads

Is there a wireless router that will record web addresses of users surfing the internet?

I have a small office and wondering if there is a wireless router that will let me know what websites people are clicking onto?

if you connect a Cisco 2950 router and a Allied AT-MC115XL media converter should there be a link light on the switch even if there is an issue with the fiber? i am using a cat5e patch cable about 5ft long. my experience says that the link should be there no mater if there will be traffic from the other switch/pc. it shouldn’t matter as long as ther converter has power and the switch port is open, right? i think the converter is bad. please supply urls! BTW i am not a neewbie and have tried most everything!

I have two jacks in my wall plate. One RJ11, the other RJ45. Both were wired with Cat5. I want to convert the RJ11 to RJ45 so I have two RJ45′s but I don’t want to have to re-terminate the wire. Is there an RJ45 termination for my wall plate that has on the backside an easy way to plug into the RJ11 so I don’t have to hire someone to re-wire the termination? I also don’t want to re-wire it myself.

I have wireless devices ( iTouch, e-reader) but my laptop is broken. I need wifi access, but I dont have a computer to hook the router to. Is there a router that I can connect to my Comcast modem? I have internet through Comcast, I just cant access it.

I’m not sure what my internet source is but when I finally connected my Touch to the router I couldn’t get the router connected to the internet. Does this mean I already have wireless internet or do I need a network adapter?

I am connected to BT (ISP) in the UK. I just want to know if being closer to an ADSL exchange makes any difference to broadband speed.

I know there’s a broadband modem for the DC but it’s hard to find and expensive, so I was wondering if there is like a phone to broadband adaptor, or even if I dare to ask, a wireless solution? I researched for a while but couldn’t find anything.

I have a modem and wireless router downstairs. I have a device upstairs, that will ONLY accept a wired ethernet connection. Is there something I can put upstairs, that will receive the wireless signal while allowing it to output via ethernet?
