someone ripped my phone line out at the outside grey box,does anyone know how or where i reconnect the 2 blue wires that are coming from the cat5 wires?

I have a sat based internet connection in my office but wish to send it to my home nearby. i have a wireless router but i need to input a telephone cable, but my internet uses cat5 cable. another quick question in the back of my router there is 4 cat5 connectors i have connected my cat5 internet into this but cannot get the internet to work wirelessly am i doing it wrong or does it not work this way either

I got a huge bill from my ISP (BSNL – India) as usage charges for my ADSL broadband connection. The funny thing is, no one in my house was using internet during last month (the period of the bill) as the there was no telephone connection to my home. I carry around the laptop from which Internet is connected and I was away from home for almost a month.

I called to findout what happened and I got an answer saying that there wont be any misuse since the telephone number is binded to the broadband connection. Is it possible to do that? Does BSNL do that to prevent misuse?

My report is on the Telecommunications Act of 1996, specifically its policy of allowing the seven Bell companies (local service) to offer long distance telephone service.

The report includes historical issues that led to the policy, and explanation of the policy itself, and observable results. I can’t think of anything that I would assume before writing this paper, and I’m not sure I even understand the concept of “assumptions”.

Also, what might be some things that may have hindered me from learning more? And what are the linkages between the ideological, sociological, and technological events leading up to the policy? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where can i get a splitter for my ethernet cable wire and another wire? The ethernet wire is for my 360 and to get on live if that helps.

so are you supposed to connect a telephone wire into a walljack and then connect it to your wireless modem, then take an ethernet cable and connect it to your router and your computer OR are you supposed to take an ethernet cable and connect it into a cat5e wall jack and connect it to the router and take another ethernet cable and connect it to the router and the computer?!? help please

Where are Internet and telephone cables carrying intercity telecommunication traffic located? Are they under highways, under roads, under railway lines, on electric poles?

And besides, has every ISP its own parallel nationwide network, or does it just lease the already installed Internet cables owned and by another company? Wouldn’t it too expensive for a new company to lay down its own cables across the country when they are already there? Thanks.

the ones connected to the thick telecommunications line. what are they for? i read one once that said “warning, high pressure”. they are either hung off of the telecommunication lines themselves, or placed a few feet of the ground, mounted on the telephone pole.

I am building a house. Because of a tiny little math error on my part, I have a LOT more Cat 5E cable than I can possibly use for networking my house. I talked to my electrical contractor about using this for phone wiring and he said absolutely not, that this could not be used. I called a couple of others and they said, sure no problem, Cat 5E is actually better than regular phone wiring. The phone company (bless them) said they would send a tech out to assess the situation and answer the question for a mere $74.00 (to start). Anybody know the correct answer? Thanks
