I have a web based application that im having an issue with on several computers on my network…

By unchecking the check box next to Internet Protocol (tcp/ip) under the network properties box, applying the changes, and than going back and REchecking the box, the webbased application returns the requested data..

However you can go back to same machine an hour later and it does the same thing… This is only a temp fix..

SO i have a couple questions…

By disabling tcp/ip, and than reenabling it, what exactly is the computer doing to the network stack to make it work temporarily ?

and

How the heck do i make it a permanent fix… ?

this is a dhcp network , running windows xp computers on active directory..

I can put the same image on 2 different computers, same make and model and it will work on one, and not the other..

I tried the arp -d command and it was still not working,
How can i get the router tables to refresh..

and also this application captures both audio and video of a users computer as they are taking phone calls.. for future playback for quality control..
i’ve turned off all sleep modes and it will actually have this problem 10 seconds after booting up.. or the computer could be up for 2 days.. i haven’t found a pattern..

so i need to have a static ip on my home network for port forwarding….so i setup the tcp/ip to do so, and it worked great.

then i got to school, and it wouldn’t connect…i realized it was the static ip, so i changed the tcp/ip config to “obtain ip address automatically”….and it works

whats lame is that in the tcp/ip config, there are radio buttons for the dynamic and static…lets say you put values in the static, then click the radio button for the dynamic, even though the static is disabled, it deletes all the values for the static.

so i get to school, disable the static…then when i get home, i have to manually re-enter the ip, mask, gateway and dns servers….this is a pain, and should not be….

is there anyway to have both these configs setup to work without manually re-entering the static info every time i get home?

can it be done with multiple profiles? i have a dell insprion E1505 laptop, which uses intel PROSet/wireless to connect to both my home and school
FYI, i have not played around with different profiles and setting, because i just have not had the time, and can’t afford to waste time fiddling around. What better way to save time then to ask an expert who has had success.
