How do you split a CAT5 Cable in Mid Line?

So i recently asked this question and it wouldn’t let me reply. But so lets say i have a CAT5 cable and want to split it to two continuous running cables but i cant put a router on it because i wont be able to configure it. Is this what a switch is for? I need something that can take a male end and put it into two female ends. That i can plug ethernet cords into. And it has to be something that i dint have to configure. And i know this is unorthodox but is it possible to split a CAT5 cable while its connected to the internet and then put on a new plug while it is still being juiced with internet. It is not carrying a (POE) charge. But is this possible? Any help at all would be helpful.

Thanks

How many times can you split co-axial cable?

I am looking to re-wire my house and replace the 35+ year old Co-axial cable and also run Cat6 networking at the same time.

My issue is that I know that when you split the cable you lose some of the signal strength and I know that I will have to split it at least 3 to 4 times to reach all the rooms in the house.

I know that you can put an amplifier on the line, but ive also heard that can cause as many problems as it solves.

With installing Cat6 though out the house, I can just install a 16 port switch in the main junction room and install the modem in there and then just use the data jacks to get internet access. If the signal is strong enough for the internet signal (cable modem), then it is fine for anything else that it will have to do.

End result is I want to be able to support Cable Internet in any room of the house via the co-axial jack if need be (since that requires the higher signal frequency).

So I need to know what my split limit it and if a amp will fix any signal loss w/o causing other problems.

Thanks

Is it good wiring to split a pair out of Cat5e out into separate outlet?

Need to rewire a number of rooms in home. I plan to use a Cat5e patch panel down stream of NID and a ADSL splitter. Is it permissible to just run a single 5e cable from patch panel to the outlet boxes and connect a pair into a separate outlet for the single line phone and the other pairs for internet and LAN to another outlet.

I’m very familiar with the winsock(api) send/recv functions, but it has a cap of 8192 bytes, and the data i need to send is larger than 8192 bytes.
So i was wondering if anyone could tell me the steps and procedures to split the data into lets say packets with chunks of data(1024 bytes maybe)

If I need to split an ethernet cord into several computers, do I need a switch or a router?

I have an ethernet cable coming from a modem and I need to split it so that several computers can access the internet. This is not something that will be there permanently, so issues of privacy / file sharing / firewalls can be disregarded.

Switches seem to be considerably cheaper than routers. So will this work with just a switch or do I need a router?

I have a split adsl connection. Is there anyway to also split the speed?

I find it annoying when my mum goes on paltalk she gets all the bandwith and it is near impossible for me to go on. And she finds it annoying if I was already downloading something, and she can not go becouse it will be to slow. Is there a way were we always get the same slower but split speed? Eg so if we both are downloading something we would be downloading at the same speed, not first one gets all, seconds goes extremly slow.
