learn how to use voip gateway

i have hear and read about software PBX’s but i dont have much experience with them. how can i make computer call a hard phone and recieve calls from a hard phone.

We’d like to use Linksys cordless Internet Telephony Kits with Skype to keep in contact with our family. The phone is USB, Model CIT200. Does it have Mac drivers? I know Skype itself does, but we can’t find them on the Linksys website. Anybody have experience with this particular internet phone and Macs? Thanks
Although using the internal mic is an option, we’d prefer to use a cordless USB phone with Skype. We’re looking for the Mac drivers for the above mentioned phone.
Anybody else have another idea?

I want to receive incoming calls to my physical extention on a Panasonic KXTD1232 on my Skype account. Also I want to make calls to other extentions on this PBX from Skype.

Basically I need something what would convert the PBX extention to my skype account.

There are some solution out, ranging high in price. I need just a simple solution. I am aware Skype would not support this eagerly as I don’t have to pay them anymore.

I understand the cost is lower, but how about reliabilty and quality? Also, our internet is through the phone company so how does that affect the price? Thanks! (We use Skpe for international calls but I don’t know about domestic calls.)

Im not trying to call a landline or cell for now, just a skype user.

Looking for a Skype alternative that does PC to PC VOIP conferencing. Gtalk is great, but no conference calls. Skype uses too much CPU for my liking.

I spend a small fortune speaking to a mobile in another country and am looking at ways to use the pc to call a mobile using VOIP. I don’t know if I could, nor am I sure if I got an answer whether it would make a lot of sense to me as I am a little unsure of the jargon people use these days. Its getting to my nerve especially when i need to do work and i cant connect. My wireless network connection will have excellent signal but the browser is unable to connect. Its begining to happen quite frequently so I am not sure what is causing it. here are some details to assist the diagnosis:
1. At first i though there was something wrong with my internet connection (RCN) at home, but it happened at the office too. (both are wireless). I tried using the ethernet cable and its the same prob.
2. It happens after i go on skype (telephony) and the line will drop. most of the time.
3. I just recently started using Mozilla Firefox. (I checked the firewall, it allows all that its suppose to allow.
4. I just installed Lavasoft Ad Aware SE personal.

5. I recently set cache size to 50mb.

6. The protocol for all SSL2.0, SSL3.0, TLS1.0 is checked. (could it be conflicting?)

could any of the above cause the problem? if not, what is? tech ppl might know.
