How to convert wireless signal to ethernet?

I have a router on the bottom floor and a computer on the second floor with a wireless adapter that gets the wireless signal, however, I have devices that should be in the same room as the computer that connect to the internet through Ethernet. How would I convert the wireless signal my computer gets with the adapter to an ethernet connection? For example, somehow bridge the wireless adapter and NIC card then just plug the device into the ethernet port on the computer, or buy some sort of device that does it?

How will i be able to know if a modem-router has a strong signal before buying it?

Is there a wireless router that will reach 1000 ft with a good signal?

I want the router to reach my neighbors’ house so we can share the costly high-speed internet. I live in a rural area. There are no other wireless routers in the area to interfere with the signal. I have a direct view of their house from a window where the router could be placed. the only thing between our houses is a single line of trees and about 700 ft of open space. I would also like to have a fast put through as well. The internet speed we’re getting is 6 Mbps from Comcast, if that matters. High-speed just became available in my area so I’m new at this, but I’m pretty up on techy stuff and I would like to set it up myself if you think it would be manageable. Thanks for the help!

How can i set up my router to receive a wireless signal and convert it to a wired signal?

Our apt. complex is going completely wireless but I still need an ethernet cable for xbox and such. I am wondering what type of router i need to buy and how to set it up so that this is possible. I can give the admins a mac address to use the router as a access point. Also, they mentioned something about DDWRT but i am clueless on how to go about that.

thanks

I have a router in the front house. How can I get better signal on my PS3 from the backhouse?

I also have another router that I could use if a wireless bridge is easier and more effective. The connection is poor from the back house, but I can still play.
I have a second router. Does anyone know how I could connect these two so I could get wireless reception from both areas?

Is there a device which turns the digital signal into analogue using VoIP?

I work at a radio station, and we’re moving our phone system over to VoIP.

However, we need to turn the digital feed coming from our Cisco 7960′s into an analogue feed [normal phone line cable] so that we can plug it into our Telephone Balance Unit / Hybrid, so we can put the calls to air.

However I haven’t found a device that can do this, any ideas?

How do I run signal to a wireless router, from an ethernet card?

I get my internet stream from my free city wireless provider. The stream enters my computer through a linksys network adapter with three antennas and an amplifier built in. It feeds an internal card. It works really well and I’d like to continue using it, but I want to send it to other computers in my apartment via wireless connection.

I want to use an ethernet card in an adjacent slot to feed a router that will transmit wireless signal across my apartment. For some reason the router will not install when attached to the output of the ethernet card. Should I just use a cross-over cable? Normally you run a ethernet cable from the wall to the router, to all of the computers, but I don’t have this ‘wall jack’ feature in my apartment.

Much obliged.

What direction does a wireless router broadcast its signal?

I am trying to reposition the wireless router in my house to increase the signal strength through out the house. I have been told by some people to put the router downstairs because the signal goes up and others have told me to put the router upstairs because the signal projected down mostly.

How the PSTN call travels though ISDN network…that means conversion of analog to digital signal conversion?

Does a router halve the signal or does the bandwidth stay the same on all ends?

Im planning on purchasing a router because of new computers and a ps3 and i was just wondering whether a router splits the signal with my excruciatingly slow 256 kbps bandwidth speed on both ends or does it halve it. So if i had two computers using the internet at the same time would i have 256 kbps on both computers or roughly 128 kbps on each?
