Please advise the best ADSL settings for improved perfomance?
I would like to know how I set my ADSL Router (D-Link DSL 504T) to get the maximum performance. There are several settings on the ADSL Router, unable to understand all of them. Would like to know which settings affect in which way and what would be the optimal setting.
There seem to be lots of tools and tweaks available on search but nothing really helps. Some of the websites do not seem trustworthy.

How can I change the settings on my router without the setup disk?
I have a Belkin F5D9231-4 router, and when I bought it, it came with a setup disk so you can set a password and stuff. But recently we moved, and I lost the disk somewhere. Is there any way I can get to the basic settings of my router without the disk? Or maybe there’s a site I can download the contents of the CD onto my computer?

Can’t access modem settings page in browser?
I have a Zhone 6211 i3 200 modem that I am trying to connect to my DSL service. I have no other router involved.
Everytime I try connecting it to a PC via ethernet (i tried 3 different laptops) i get Unidentified network and No internet access in all of them.
I tried resetting it, by holding the reset button for 30 secs, but even when i do this i can’t access the modem’s default page: http://192.168.1.1 (the box to enter username/password doesnt even appear, i just get cant connect)
However i set up a network using PPPoE where i punched in my DSL’s username and password and the modem works. This is at least good, but not ideal.
I want to access my modem’s settings page, to let the modem connect for itself. HELP PLEASE!

ETHERNET settings please?
I’m having broadband internet through phone line via ethernet WAN miniport (PPPoE). The internet is connecting automatically, without using my broadband connection logon, (whenever I restart my computer or connect the modem) which result that whenever I try to connect to the internet, the dialog box says “The phone line is busy”. And when I open internet explorer, the page takes forever to appear a normal web-page. Harrassing! I’m sure that the phone line and modem works just fine. The problem is with the network connections or settings probably in my view. Please help me to get out of this hell!

how to configure my router for the fastest settings?
i need to know what some of the settings mean in the router, what i can turn on and off etc. PPPoe stuff like that. “anti spoof checking” UPnP mac adresses and stuff like that. im good with computers so you dont need to dumb it down i just dont really know much about internet networking. what settings to put it on to get the fastest connection would be best also.
also it says it has a firewall in it and if this is slowing me down at all, not neccesary, may be blocking something, etc i want to know if i can turn it off and let my computers install AV firewall do everything, or if its a totally different kind of firewall that blocks different things and i should always have on.
i have a d-link gaming router so it lets me play around with pretty much all the settings.
