How to connect computer and xbox to same ethernet cable?

problem is that the router is in the basement and wiring another wire from the router would be way too much trouble. So I was looking for some sort of Ethernet splitter which i take one Ethernet cable running from the router and have it split into two one for the computer and the other the 360. Hopefully someone can help me. Thank you.

My internet speed is the same as the speed I get between computers in house. How is that possible?

This is more of a followup of my last question. I did a speed test using dslreports.com using my desktop connected via a linksys usb wireless G and with cat5. I also did this test with one of my laptops. The speeds were all faster than the stated speeds for my plan. The wireless was actually rated faster than the wired. I am getting around 6Mbps which is what I get during downloads. The problem is that when transferring between computers on my lan speed is the same speed most of the time. I have done wifi laptop to wifi desktop, cat5 laptop to cat5 desktop, and any other combination. They all transferred at the same rate except for when I connected my laptop via cat5 and my desktop via wireless which was twice as fast.

I am thinking that my wireless router isn’t routing very quickly no matter how the computers are connected. My router is a Linksys WRT54G with DDWRT for firmware. Are other routers better at Lan throughput?

What if cable industry was deregulated in the same way as the telecommunications industry?

This is a question out of a book on the marketing industies. This chapter happens to be on the subject of prices we as consumers have to pay and on the industries that put these prices on their products or services.

I have a same switch hub with a 48 ports Linksys. what kind of Cat5 i used to be? it is a straight or cross?

How do you hide one network from the other on the same high speed connection?

How do you hide one network from the other on the same high speed connection? So the two networks can’t see the files on the other network. Example Answer could be; One connection comes into one switch; two CAT5’s to two different routers; two different routers go to two different networks; one separated from the other.

Is it?
Router One
Host IP IS192.168.1.1-253
SUBNET MASK IS 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY IS 192.168.0.254

Router Two
Host IP IS10.0.0.1-253
SUBNET MASK IS 255.255.0.0
GATEWAY IS 192.168.0.254

Please Help
Thanks

If one Broadband company owns another, does it mean the service will be the same?

I am currently with AOL. The service recently has been awful…well for the past 8 months or so (i.e pings over 500 in certain games, some games don’t connect, regular down time) so i started looking to find new broadband companies. I came across talk talk which seems to rated highly among some independent websites, but i recently found out that talk talk own AOL… does this mean that i will still get the same shoddy service?
