How can I change an RJ11 phone jack with Cat5 in wall plate to RJ45 without re-wiring? Is there an adapter?
I have two jacks in my wall plate. One RJ11, the other RJ45. Both were wired with Cat5. I want to convert the RJ11 to RJ45 so I have two RJ45′s but I don’t want to have to re-terminate the wire. Is there an RJ45 termination for my wall plate that has on the backside an easy way to plug into the RJ11 so I don’t have to hire someone to re-wire the termination? I also don’t want to re-wire it myself.
How to connect Cat5 cable to an rj11 port for DSL modem?
I have a Cat5e cable running from my telephone box to an office in my backyard. I need to connect the Cat5 cable to an rj11 port so that I can plug in my DSL modem. There are four twisted pairs on Cat5e, does anyone know which of these wires should be attached to the rj11 port?
The office has no jack at all. It has the end of a Cat5e coming out of one of the walls to connect a jack (what I was calling a port) to. I know I can connect an rj45 jack (port) to this, but I have DSL with a DSL modem which plugs into an rj11 jack. I am trying to figure out which of the wires in the Cat5e cable to screw down in the rj11 jack.
Connect old PBX Desk Phone To RJ-11 Phone Jack.?
I have a standard RJ-11 phone jack in my office that both my phone lines are wired to.
I would like to connect an old style desk phone that has “hold” and is capable of receiving multiple lines.
The old phone is from a PBX system so I am wondering if I can rewire it to work properly off my RJ-11 jack?
Thank you.
I currently have it connected with a 2 line analog phone.
I was hoping to use the old phone because I like the retro look and have always found the old desk phones more comfortable.
I guess I am stuck with what I have.
Thanks BobB, I will check and see if I have the 1A2 KSU.
It does have the red hold button & 4 or 5 line buttons. I can live without the “hold” functioning but I would like the ring to work.
My phone isn’t connecting through an RJ-11?
My phone is normally connected with a cable from the wall into a Touchstone Telephony Modem TM402P, &Then an RJ-11 goes from there to the actual phone base. My Modem broke, but when I try to plug the phone base into the wall using an RJ-11, I don’t get a dial tone. How can I connect my phone?

Pinout diagram for RJ11 using cat5?
I just finished moving my modem from downstairs to upstairs, and I have to recrimp an rj11 jack. What is the pin order for an rj11 jack using a cat5 cable? I also checked my phone box, the only wires actually used are the green and green/white cables. So I guess my actual question is what positions should the green and green/white cables be in?

How would I convert RJ11 into CAT-5e?
I have a telephony modem that we just installed and I need to convert from standard RJ11 connector to a CAT-5 cable, our board that splits the phone line is wired all into CAT-5. I have a separate way to split my data into the CAT-5′s, I just need to figure out how to split the voice up. Thanks.
What is the pinout for an RJ11 phone line using Cat5 cable?
We’ve got a new house with Cat5 cable. I need to terminate one to my DSL modem but I can’t seem to get the pin configuration correct for the RJ11 going into the DSL modem.
