I want to play on Xbox live but i can’t find the pass word to the router so i couldnt connect because you need to know the password. is there any way i can reset it without knowing it?

I have plugged in the power cable, the phone line and CAT5 cable and have tried resetting. I can also get connected using a different external modem using the same cables.

My problem is that the router starts up like normal turning the power LED green briefly flashes the the internet LED and then flashes the test light amber (whilst the whole time The ethernet LED stays lit). This continues for 5 seconds and then stops.

It is at this poin that it ‘resets’. all LED’s turn off apart from the power and then all of the ethernet lights flash once. Then it all happens again.

Please help me i have tried resetting and resetting and inserting power cable nothing seems to work. I think it may be something to do with the actual hardware inside of the router rather than me doing something wrong?

… the router is around 6-7 months old and once used to work.
…oh and the computer also attemtps to connect to it while its searching but obviously displays the message “A Network Cable Is Unplugged” because of the ‘reset’

I lost my WEP key and the password to my router, so I can’t log in to it to get my WEP key again. I need to set up another laptop with my wireless internet. So how do I reset my router to factory defaults? I want detailed instruction, from which button to push to reset, how to do this “power cycle” thing, what I do to find my WEP key again, how to set up new username/password combination to the router, etc. Everything.

I have two computers. When I want to connect my laptop or plug the desktop back in, I take the ethernet cord out of the desktop and put it into my laptop and it gets a limited connection. I then have to reset the router every time it happens. Is this normal, and if not, how can I fix this? Also if I want to use two computers on one ethernet connection at he same time, do I need a hub or switch?

So I finished playing Okami yesterday and was ecstatic! But when the ending theme came on, I was in awe. So to show Okami that it was one of the most awesome games of 2006, I made a little tribute using the ending song ‘Reset’. I would like to reset my Cisco 2501 router to default settings, but I cannot access the configuration page using HyperTerminal. Is there any other way that I can reset this router?

I replaced my Linksys router with an Apple AirPort Extreme.
