what router should i have to connect wireless send and receive?
a wireless broadband omni antenna base station located near me, let’s call it “Xstation”, is providing wireless internet.
i need to connect to Xstation using pppoe.
is there any solution to connect wireless to my laptop with pppoe enabled.
i have a solution but it’s costy : i configured an access point as ap client and receive wireless internet from Xstation by pluging a UTP Rg45 cable into that Ap to a Wan port in a wireless router.setting up the pppoe in that wireless router makes me access internet wireless to my laptop.
is there any other solution, instead of buyin an AP and a wireless router?
could it be a mode(wds, bridge,…) or only a wireless router that can do this job?

How can i set up my router to receive a wireless signal and convert it to a wired signal?
Our apt. complex is going completely wireless but I still need an ethernet cable for xbox and such. I am wondering what type of router i need to buy and how to set it up so that this is possible. I can give the admins a mac address to use the router as a access point. Also, they mentioned something about DDWRT but i am clueless on how to go about that.
thanks

What is faster? 100mbit connection port, or 1000mbps connection port that you only receive 80% of the speed?
Okay, so I’m upgrading my dedicated server for a small game I host, a private server of course.
Right now these are my specs:
Memory 2 GB DDR2 667
Processor Single Processor Quad Core Opteron 1354 – 2.20GHz – 2 x 1MB cache
Operating System Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2 with R2 (64 bit)
VPN Management – Private Network SSL VPN Management
Uplink Port Speed 1000 Mbps Public & Private Networks
I asked my host how much of the 1000mbps power I get, and they replied I only get around 80% of that speed.
Okay so I wanna upgrade! I hate my host they’re so overpriced.
So I found this host here are the specs:
Dual Intel Xeon 3.06Ghz CPUs
4GB RAM, 160 GB SATA Drive
Unlimited Bandwidth [100MBit Port]
Okay the 100mbit port throws me off because my other host is 800mbps (80%). Which host would be better and no lag for my game? Currently I have no lag except when I reach around 440 players my server starts to lag I’m guessing it is the dedicated server or the port speed I do not know… but I need to upgrade!
So which dedicated server should I get and what is the differences between the two internet port speeds, 100mbit and 800mbps, which is faster?
What is the cheapest way to setup voip so that I can receive calls from my voip line but dial out through pstn
Basically, I just want to be able to receive calls on my voip line that are redirected from my mobile, but dial out through my landline, so that I can use up my monthly minutes, unless anyone can recommend me a cheap voip, pay monthly service.

Is it possible to receive incoming calls on a virtual # on the iPhone via VoIP. Not going through any PSTN?
When i receive a call to my toll free or any other virtual phone number i want it to be connected to my iphone via VoIP with a fixed number. right now i use VoIP for outgoing calls with fring skype and a SIP provider. I love the cheap rates but the incoming calls don’t get transfered to phone. So i was wondering if i can just receive calls with another number in my area code or toll free and have it forward to my accounts. Any feedback on this would be great. If anyone has done anything like this before i would like to hear it.
