I’m 19, have a year and a piece of experience, I have an Ortronics certificate saying I’m qualified to pull and terminate fiber optic cable. I have extensive experience pulling and terminating cat5 and 6. 4 pair, 25 pair, etc… The company I’m working for is not union, I live in florida and the company pays health insurance for me. I make $10 and hour. Is that reasonable, if not what would be?

I’ve tried rebuilding winsock in Vista using the Netdiag tool but it still doesn’t work. I can’t pull an ipconfig /all. I really don’t want to mess with the registry but will if there’s no other choice. Does anyone know of an alternative?
Yeah, I’m set as administrator, but still no luck.

I’ll look into disabling the IPv6. Anything else (in case that fails too).

I have a Cisco 800 series router, but I don’t think I can get a static IP address from my ISP. I need to configure port address translation but I’d hate to have redo it every time my cable modem gets a different IP.

I have a linkcheck from smartronix but it only tells me if a drop is hot. I would like a small tool to pull an IP so I know the VLAN the drop is on so I don’t have to carry around a laptop. I know Fluke makes a $500+ model but I was looking for somthing cheaper

Ok so I cannot pull web pages, here is whats going on

dsl, 1 computer straight to the modem, dsl connection says its connected has correct dns
I tried I.E safari and firefox but none of them work

I also can ping out, everything works except for pages displaying
dns and ip address are set to obtain automatically in tcpip properties

I flushed the dns, reset the netsh logs and reset the winsock catalog
also did a system restore to when it was last working and it looks like service pack 2 was installed on the day I restored to. still could not pull pages

my next option is to re install windows,

unless someone has any ideas
