I’m trying to write a chat program in visual basic 2008 using winsock. When ever i use this it always gets stuck at Winsock.GetData(messagein) and does nothing. Could somebody tell me where my code has errors please.
Localhost is set to 255.255.255.255
local port and remote port are the same
and protocal is set to 1
Any help would be appreciated.

we have a project in school, making a “LAN Chat” Program out of visual basic 6… the Program is splitted into two (SERVER and CLIENT)… i used WInsock 6 connecting with IP, Port and other stuff…
When i run both the program (client and server) on a same computer works just fine.. even multiple clients 6+ Clients but on the same computer… but when i try to run it on separate computers it doesnt work… it says Error: Connection is forcefully Rejected. i need help pls…

how do i write a sample program in visual basic using the winsock

Custom made client server setup using windows sockets.

[Motivation] This program is a homework for the class “Network Introduction” in my university. We have to write a P2P program which can send text messages and images via network. [Functionality] User can choose to be the server or client. Server will listen to a port and wait for connecting request of client. Server/Client can send text message and image to each other. [Used Technique] 1.Developed in C++ with Windows SDK, NO MFC. 2.Use winsock API to handle network jobs.

There is about 50 buttons on this phone and I figured out what they all do, but there must be a key combination that allows you to set the extension name. I’ve seen a telecom worker do it from one of these phones before so I know access to our PBX is not necessary. Any ideas?

Please help, I need to get statistics for a small call center for a startup company that is not currently brining in revenue. ASA, AHT, AWT, SLAs etc. The PBX is a Inter-tel 5000 and we are using a windows environment.

I have a Cisco Catalyst 3548 XL switch which I want to configure with VLANs and other stuff but I don’t want to spend hours or even days playing around on the command line. Is there a quick setup tool that can at least cook up a basic configuration that I can upload to the switch?
Cisco Configmaker does not support Catalysts. Certainly not the 35XX series.

I want to stop some startup programs from loading until i can log into a program (cisco clean access agent) which also runs at startup. Because i cannot access the internet until cisco has logged on it seems pointless to have interenet based apps starting, and using system resources, while cisco is still trying to open the logon page. Is there any way around this without manually opening all my internet based apps after gaining network access?
