Svchost trojan.generic problem?

Hello,
I’m currently on my desktop computer and i have a problem concerning my HP Mini 110 Windows xp Service pack 3 Laptop.

How the problem started
I’ve recently been playing a online game called Maple story and I’ve downloaded this hack (Which i shouldn’t of and i regret). I’m going to post a scan result right now in this post and could you see if this is harmful to my computer at any way.
Anyway, in order for me to download Maple story I had to require a lot of space on my laptop therefore i had to disable and delete system restore points.

What happened
After i double clicked on the program my computer started running super slow, I figured this was really weird so i restarted. The startup was fine going through windows xp logo and selecting a user account. But when it loaded my user account it was super slow. No desktop icons displayed nor the startmenu bar. It took awhile for it to load the first thing would always pop up is this box displaying “Personalizing theme, running svchost”. Then all of my desktop items and start menu would appear but it would be working really slow. I loaded up ctrl alt delete and it showed weird file names in application like something a5yyhxxxxxx.exe and when i right clicked to proccess it lead up to svchost.exe. Kaspersky internet security detected svchost.exe as a trojan.generic virus. Also, i can no longer connect to the internet because no networks shows up. The telephony service on my laptop can no longer work.

What i did
The first thing i did is Ran in safemode, then i began a full system scan with Kaspersky on my computer. It Quarantined svchost and that hack i downloaded but the problem still persisted. I enabled system restore but what it said was “System Restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your computer, and then run system restore again.” The problem still kept on happening.

Sony Vaio Internet Problem (SOLVED)

I have found a solution. Click Start open Run. Type in (or copy and paste) ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. If you see anything it’ll be a quick flash of a window and than exit. after that, go to start button and type in “cmd” in the search box, right click that and run as administrator.A dos Window will appear. Type next in the dos window: netsh winsock reset hit enter. REBOOT!! connect your computer to the internet and see… please comment…

Problem: I have to log In to internet each time? (att dsl) & att tech support was no help!?

Can any tech-inclined person help me with this problem?
OK, I have at&t dsl.
In the past, I had SBCYahoo! and all I had to do was click on the IE icon and Im online.
NOW, with att I have to:
1. right click on the 2 pcs icon (located on the bottom right of the taskbar – right next to the volume icon, near the time)
2. then I scroll up to “connect to a network”
3. a connect to a network window pops up and I click on Broadband connection – PPPoE connection
4. then the actual log in box comes up (it says connect broadband connection on top), I’ve saved my username and password or else it would be an even longer process…
5. finally, I click connect…
6. after a few seconds, It says successfully connected to broadband connection
seriously, I just want to click the “blue e” or Firefox icon. Isnt DSL supposed to be always on?
Once, I had a wireless network installed, is this the problem even though the router isn’t connected now?
How can I stay connected without having to do this each time?

I’m having trouble with this math problem, can someone please help!?

A freight version of Boeing’s 747 airliner has 2.7×104 cubic feet of cargo space. A CD in its jewel case has a volume of 10.8 cubic inches. Assume that each CD holds 650 megabytes of information.

(a) If you packed the aircraft with as many CDs as it could hold, how much information could you store in megabytes?

(b) A “56K” modem typically transmits information at 45 kilobits per second. In computer terminology, a kilobit is 1024 bits, and a megabyte is 1,048,576 bytes. One byte equals eight bits of information. How long would it take to transmit the amount of information contained in one 747 planeful of CDs through a modem?

(c) A T3 high-speed internet connection transmits information at 45.0 megabits per second. As with bytes and bits, one megabyte equals eight megabits of information. Assume that it takes 12 hours to load, fly and unload the 747. How many T3 connections would it take to transmit this information in 12 hours?

What could be the problem with my network?

I am using Comcast as my internet service provider. From the Comcast modem, if I connect my computers ethernet card to the comcast modem, everything works fine. But if I try to put a router in between the two, they don’t work. I thought it might have been a problem with the router, but I have tried 3 of them. Everything is configured to use DHCP.

I’m having trouble with this math problem, can someone please help!?

I figured out the answer to (a) which is 2.81e9 and the answer for (b) is 5.11e11. Can someone please help me get part (c) because I am stuck on that question!

ds wifi connection problem?

this is so very annoying…
alright, si i have ds and want to connect to the internet, so i follow tutorials and find out about getting ip addresses from run/cmd/ipconfig
what i got was:
IP adress: 10.1.1.3
subnet mask: 255.0.0.0
default gateway: 10.1.1.1
dns servers: 10.1.1.1

and i filled that in, but that didn’t work, so i went onto web and typed in my ip address – 10.1.1.1, and checked my status. there are 2 caegories, lan and wan
all that is under lan is mac address, ip address, subnet mask, DHCP server and NAT. ip address is 10.1.1.1 and subnet mask is 255.0.0.0

under WAN is alot of fancy digits –
Virtual Circuit Pvc0 Pvc1 Pvc2 Pvc3 Pvc4 Pvc5 Pvc6 Pvc7
Status Connected
Connection Type pppoe
IP Address 60.242.22.248
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway 10.20.20.125
DNS Server 203.12.160.35

I have two pc’s connected to my router..laptop show’s it’s connected but won’t connect to the internet
yes it has vista..i have no idea what you said to do
two other computers are plugged into the router and working fine

how do I solve this problem with my Cisco router?

I have a brand new Cisco 877, I can access to te internet, but only a small part of it. I am using a different router now because I can’t access Ebay or answers.yahoo with my 877, as if there’s a firewall blocking the traffic.
How do I manage to solve this issue?

can’t connect to the internet dns(domain name server) configuration problem?

Cannot communicate with primary DNS server(192.168.0.1).
Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not
recieve a response.

The capability of your network adaptor does not match
the requirements of this network.

There may be a problem with your domain name server(DNS)
configuration. Windows failed to find the well known
host “www.microsoft.com” using DNS. The server may be down.

DHCP and DNS problem?

This is a tough one. My XP is not working properly. DHCP and DNS are not working. Setting the IP address manually I can connect but DNS doesn’t work.
nslookup works fine, so it’s not a protocol problem or the network stack. I’ve rebuilt TCP and winsock already.
DNS doesn’t work for the applications. DHCP and DNS client services are working. I tried with the wireless card, the wired ethernet card and dialup. It’s the same problem with all of them.
I’m using a Sambar proxy installed on another machine and I can use connect fine. I disabled (almost) all software to do the test. So it’s not a firewall, anti virus problem.
I suspected a spyware/adware intercepting the network stack but I couldn’t find anything.

Any ideas?

Computer problem.?

We have 2 computers in the house, 1 a desktop computer and 1 a laptop.
the other night we had a huge storm… and now the desktop computer isn’t working right with the internet.
We called our internet provider and he said it might be a winsock error or something so i looked up how to fix it on my laptop (since mine is still working) and i went through what it said to do and it still isn’t working. Its a windows 98 computer if that helps.
if anyone knows anything please help, thanks
how would i download that winsock thing if i can’t get onto the internet with that computer?
id have to do it on my laptop?

Important question please help me someone who knows the problem?

I can’t play GTA SA MP (san andreas multy player), Rise of Nations gold, any of the games on the internet. I bet it has something to do with the router. IDK it plays Counter strike however.
I have Edimax BR-6204Wg and when i type my gateway in my adress bar on firefox it opens me the router setup, here are the informations, maybe there is a mistake done here while the guys were setting up my net:

PPPoE

User Name : *********************
Password : *************
Service Name :
MTU : 1392 (512<=MTU Value<=1492)
Connection Type : Continuous
Idle Time : 10 (1-1000 minutes)
TTL : Disabled

Wireless Setting:
Mode: AP
Band: 2.4 GHz (B+G)
ESSID: *********
Channel no.:11

Security
Encryption : WPA pre-shared key
WPA Unicast Cipher Suite : WPA (TKIP)

I have a port checker and it showed that 7777 (GTA SA MP port) was closed, so i made virtual server and opened the port, but still it wouldn’t work
And my port forwarding is enabled, but none is forwarded.

If someone knows the solution, please help me
