How much performance will I lose by cutting a pre-made ethernet cable and dropping it in a wall?
Okay, so I have a 50 dollar budget. My goal is to make a 120-135 foot cat6 cable drop. I cannot afford to get everything to wire the entire house.
I’ve always heard that buying a premade cable and cutting the heads off then punching it down will drastically affect performance. Is this true? ( Let’s say from the theoretical max of 125MB/s, what would it reduce it to? )
How much performance am I going to lose by using stranded cable instead of solid? ( Again, from 125MB/s theoretical )
My network performance is on average 40 megabytes/sec ( Not megabits, in megabits it’s 320MBPS ) between slower systems, and 60 megabytes/sec between faster systems. This was taken by using aida32, etc. Can I expect a cable drop like I described to be about the same speed?
If not, how much more am I going to get by buying solid core cat6 in bulk and running that?
Thanks!
I do have my own tools to wire the house, I just don’t have the jacks ( getting cat6 of course ) and wallplates. I regularly make my own patch cables.
Also, should I get toolless keystone jacks? I have a punchdown tool but have no clue how to use it.
Do CAT5e spliters loose network performance?
Will it decrease internet speed in any way..
there is such thing.

How can i know that my network cable is doing best performance?
When you make a network using cat5 cables, you may make a bad connection that will let u use the internet but in the same time it has a bad effect on the internet speed.. you can get crazy trying to know why the internet is slow..
My question is:
Is there a way to know the performance of a specific connection and wether it is compatible with the network cabling specifications??
I know there are testers, but i wanna know a more simple way, using voltmeters or multimeters for example…

I would appreciate if anyone could tell me which would be the better computer for the game. Thanks!
It says MODEL: AFP-500
I’m not sure if the link will work for you since this is AAFES Military Exchange website, but give it a try:

It’s going for $695 but that is without a monitor…
That was option 1, here’s 2:

Can electric wirings beside UTP Cat5e cable affect the UTP cable’s performance?
We’ve installed a UTP cable Cat5e beside the electrical wirings. Some says it’s not good because it will affect other users connected in the hub.
How far can you stretch an Ethernet cable without it degrading performance?
I have a wired router connected to one computer, however, I have another computer that I want to have internet about 140 feet away. Is there a such thing as an Ethernet cable that will stretch that far? Or do you just buy several and buy connectors until you get it as far as you want it? Will it mess up the performance? I know a lot about software on a computer, but nothing about hardware lol. Thanks for the help.

Will using a CAT6 Cable increase my internet performance as opposed to using a CAT 5(E) Cable? …?
I am actually using a 5e cable whereas my gf is connected to my router and using the CAT 6 Cable. Thanks.
How is performance of CAT5E T568B cable affected if wires are swapped at both ends (pin-to-pin unchanged)?
Pinout of CAT5E T568B is 1wht/org 2org 3wht/grn 4blu 5wht/blu 6grn 7wht/brn 8brn. If pins 3 & 5 were interchanged at both ends (electrically, pin-to-pin wiring unchanged), would that affect CAT5E performance and how? Would same thing happen if pins 4 & 6 were interchanged at both ends?

Wondering if Gigabit CAT6 cables are faster than CAT5E. Will the performance gain if any be worth it?
Just wondering what the differences are, I was looking at a slim gigabit cat6 cable and I have high-speed internet, that’s why I was wondering, to get a better connection.

Which one of the following is the best performance in the DSL service?
Which one is the best performance:
1: Very high internet speed through a subscribed speed between the DSLAM and the Client. The Internet speed is very high to the maximum but the speed between the DSLAM and the client is limited to the subscribtion.
2. Subscribed internet speed through a very high speed between DSLAM and client. The Internet speed itself is limited to the subscribition, but offered through a very high speed to the maximum between the DSLAM and the client.
