Is there a difference between a LAN adapter and network adapter? I would like to not just connect my Wii to my router by a cat5e cord for downloads but be able to play games online too.

I only have a wired connection.

Im getting 300-500 ping and ive used every thing ccleaner,error check, avg virus software, spybot search and destroy,disk defragmenter, disk cleanup, windows defender, and i have my windows firewall on. My computer has been cleaned every way and still crappy ping someone help me. This is my laptop that i use with my cat5e cable connected to my wireless router when playing games i only use the wireless when surfing.The online used to be not this bad i could get at least 100 ping if not better but not any more.

I just bought a ethernet cable from best buy. I pluged one wire in the network port in the slim ps2 but where do I plug the other wire to?

asking someone who went from wireless to wired, what kind of cable did you get and could you notice immediate improvement? is there now little to no lag when playing online cames such as call of duty?

also, i don’t know if it matters or not but my dsl box is ACTIONTEC GT704-WG. not the fastest but not the slowest, it says 54 mbps wireless but not sure what that means.

i usually get about 85% signal strength but it’s been messing up so much lately i can’t take it anymore, i was going to wait a while to geet a wire but i’m getting one now, i just don’t know if i should get cat5e or cat6.

I am trying to use my Cricket broadband modem to play my ps3 online and am unable to connect, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to play online but I don’t know how to set up the system? Do I plug the ethernet cable to the PS3 and then to to the computer CPU? Or do I have to plug it to the Modem that povides internet?

I have a linksys wrt54g2 and every 4 or so hours I lose connection to the Internet. Then the Internet doesn’t work unless I unplug the router and plug it back in. I have gotten tired of unplugging the router. I have unplugged the router and just left the modem in and it worked fine so it’s not the ISP.

Hi guys, I recently bought 3gig of T-Mobile broadband to use for revision on the internet and was wondering if it was possible to use it to go online on the PS3? i have a linksys wireless-g right now but it doesn’t seem to work that well for my PS3. i have a lot of slow down and lose my connection a lot even though the connection strenghth is 75-80%. i have a fast cable internet connection. is there a better router i can buy or should i try to find a faster modem?

I use ps3 slim. How do you set it up. I put the ip adress, router numbers, subnet masks, and the dns but the connection still fails, the ethernet works perfectly on the mac im using to type this. Btw whats a dchp server
