Im looking for information related to hospital networks where would i look?
I am trying to find out information on the networks hospitals use including connectivity of the network and how information is stored or sent to users. I would also like to know what kind of physical equipment (telecommunications) the staff uses to keep in touch. Also it would be useful to find data on the day to day routines of a hospital staff. I am trying to do this for a school project so any help would be appreciated.
I have problems bridging 2 networks at home, 1 has adsl and a wireless card to the other and now i want connec
ok my laptop is in the room with a adsl usb modem. it has a wireless card that sends internet and file sharing to my pda and other xp pcs about the house. one of these has a cat5 connection that i took to a linux pc and tried to have internet on that. it didnt work and a bridge setup cut the net off to the xp box as well.
now the linux box runs damn small linux (DSL) and previously took a feed via cat5 direct from my laptop.
the xp box it is now cat5′d to gives errors that the ip addresses clash 168.192.2.1 i think it said that sharing has to use this address and that means that i cant share the network on from a computer that takes in a share.
please, i need to know if this is possible while i waste my time with it.
What Protection Is Used To Guard The Ethernet Networks From Lightening Storms?
I am managing an Ethernet network and using switches to join network sections. The network cable used is CAT 5e.
When there is strong lightening, some switch ports cease from working. The buildings have lightening arresters, is
there an additional thing I should do to protect the network against lightening?
What is the best option regarding job opportunities between a master’s degree on networks or Cisco’s CCNA?
I just finished my career on computer science (bachelor) and liked very much the networking environment ( besides operative systems ), so I wonder what is the best option for me…
Why won’t my Xbox 360 scan for networks?
My 360 used to be connected wirelessley to netgear but then we got a lynksys router, I connected my 360 to it and it worked fine. Now we have a MAC computer and an apple wireless router but I dont think the router is the problem, i think its my xbox. I turn it on, NOT CONNECTED TO LIVE, and go to system settings, from there I go to network settings, and then I select configure network. It USED to bring me directly to a menu with a “scan for networks” option, but now it brings me to a menu that says “basic settings” and “additional settings” I’ve looked through all of them and none say “scan for networks”. I don’t know what an IP address is, i dont know what DNS settings are and i dont know what a PPPoE settings is, so if you think you know the problem please BE DESCRIPTIVE!!!

How do you get a list of networks on xbox 360?
I am having an issue with my 360. It’s not allowing me to view, nor does it have the option to select a wireless network. I have no idea who it’s connecting too. I go to network configuration and all I get is basic and advanced setup tabs which either ask for an IP, DNS or PPPoE. No option at all to choose a network to connect to. Then it tells me it is not receiving an IP from the router, whosoever it’s connecting to. Any help is appreciated.
Of course, my wireless network is protected by WEP so it’s not connecting to me, nor have I had a chance or a screen that allows me to enter my SSID and password because I haven’t been able to scan local wireless networks.
Did you not read my question? I do not have the option on the 360 to scan or search for networks.

How to define datacom network’s capacity?
Hi,
Does anyone know what’s the general way to define a datacom network (like WAN,MAN) ?
In traditional telecom network, we use telephone line as the unit to measure a PSTN nwtork’s capacity. Is there a counterpart in datacom world?
Thnx.
Telecommunication Networks in Japan?
I am currently using a the Sony Ericsson k700i in Singapore and I wish to go to Japan. Am I required to change the phone I am currently using or will it work as per normal? What are the things I should look out for in terms of telecommunications in Japan?
With respect to some possible responses, what is required of my phone to be able to operate in Japan?
W-CDMA or 3G? I’m confused here.

Unable to detect wireless networks.?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook PC, no matter what I do I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. I suspect a hardware issue, but I’m not quite sure. I have tried uninstalling my wifi card drivers in device manager and reinstalling of course, I tried to reset the winsock and tcp/ip stacks, I tried entering into safe mode with networking, ipconfig shows no ip address. When I try to connect, it sees the network with a signal strength of “good” but gives the error “Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point.” I know this can’t be true because I have two other computers on my network, both of which are wireless and are able to get on the network without a problem. I tried also to connect to a neighbors network ad got the same results. Any ideas?
IT networks and Telecommunication Risk please help?
guys please help me to solve this problem…
Amanda and Chris McDermott own a small business, plastic dollars, that produces and maintains stored cards for retailers.most of the cards they sell are gift cards, such as those available in various restaurant and store.they just started their business two years ago,but this year they hope to sell about four million dollars worth of cards.depending on the arrangement with the business, they may or may not maintain the data base that contains the card owners name and the current value on the card.therefore, although the business is doing well, money is still tight.
Plastic dollars employ five people, including Amanda and Chris. two of the employees are full-time, and the other is a part-time worker who is also a college student. the business has two servers and three client computer work stations. they also have three phone lines that allow them to communicate with various retail and restaurant establishments in real time. The company has been “hit” a few times by various programmed threats. They know they should do more but they don’t think the cost is worth it. Although they have no disaster recovery plan, they do back up their files every three hours, by encrypting and compressing their data and uploading it to a remote location.
My Questions are:
1. Evaluate the risks to Plastic Dollars of programmed threats. What are the potential direct and indirect costs associated with these risks?
2. Develop a security plan for Plastic Dollars that will protect them against blended and other programmed threats.
