Im currently researching how much of Australia is being influenced by America for a speech assignment I have to do. I’m looking at a wide range of topics like technology, telecommunications, economics, goods and services, language, media, entertainment, religion etc. I know a few facts through general knowledge but I can’t really find much useful info on the net.

I usually have a wireless connection. I understand why ethernet makes the internet faster, but why does it feel like programs open up faster and run smoother than when i’m on my wireless internet connection?

I just got a new laptop and Call of Duty 4 but the only internet we can get at our house is satellite or dial up…so I’m thinking about getting ATT mobile broadband that I can just plug into the USB and play off of 3G…but how much does it cost a month? And it has to be unlimited data usage because I’m gonna pretty much play nonstop all day every day.

I have an existing internet service w/ comcast and want to add wireless router services for additional computers. What or much will I have to pay?

My internet has been quite slow lately, with frequent disconnects and high ping in general. I’ve noticed that when checking the status of my ADSL, if the bytes sent is 5,000,000, the bytes received would be 20,000,000. Would this be a problem outside of my control, or is it a hardware issue (i.e. my router)?
