Why can’t I connect to printer wirelessly when I use mobile broadband?

The only internet connection I have is mobile broadband (I use an aircard device which connects to my usb port). I now have 2 computers using the same printer which is wifi, but when I installed the drivers for the second and first computer, I can only get the printer to work using the usb cable. Why is that? The salesperson at the computer store said it is because I am using mobile broadband. Is there anything I can do to change settings to be able to use the printer without the cable?

Would I get double the connection speed if I connected two mobile broadband modems to my computer?

If I connect two mobile broadband modems to my PC, would I get double the download speed since both of them are streaming data? Would they interfere with each other? If they share the same radio frequency, would that make them share the available bandwidth on that frequency like two computers streaming data from the same landline?

What if I have two computers and I connect them to separate mobile broadband modems. Would their combined download speed be doubled?

Just curious…
Thanks for the responses – it seems the limitation is in the operating systems, and not the hardware then? What about the two (unnetworked) computers with separate modems approach? If they both had 8mbit wireless modems would each of them independently be able to download with 8mbit speed, thus giving a maximum speed of 16mbit? I know it would work if it was two separate landlines but with two wireless modems I’m curious about interference.

Oh, and just for clarification I’m just curious about how these unusual setups would work in theory, I’m actually not planning to do any of this! :D

is there a cheaper alternative to mobile broadband?

I have a mobile broadband card built into my laptop; I have the Sprint service. I really like it, it’s fast and efficient, however, it’s about $65 a month. Is there a cheaper alternative that would still have the same speed? I know Sprint and Verizon offer a little thing, kind of like a USB, that you plug into your laptop and that’s your internet connection. Is that cheaper?
