I made a 75 foot CAT5 cable with a generic ends and an RJ45 crimping tool. I used a cable tester that verified all 8 wires are aligned, but it doesn’t work. I removed all other variables. I tried making 3 and 5 foot cables and they both work. What could the problem be?

We have come across a situation where we would like to record some phone calls made in the workplace through our soft VoIP phones. Optimally, this software would be able to run on a computer connected to the same network without having to install anything on the server – however, I am not opposed to any solutions including the server.
We’re using Avaya VoIP phones that go directly into our network.

I have two systems in networking by LAN, one system is Windows 98 and other is Windows XP. Now, I have connected Broadband internet connection with system of windows XP through USB. The system of Windows XP is connected with internet but I am not able to surf internet at system with Windows 98.
