i have a computer connected in a network which uses PPPOE for users to login with some little program for internet access. and i also know that they have TTL restrictions so a packet can’t have more than x hops for example. i want to share this connection with other 2 computers and my idea was to use a router for this. the admin told me once that it’s possible to do this with a switch and something more (didn’t told me the rest) so i think the router can solve the problem but not sure. i don’t want to buy one if it won’t help me. so anyone confronted with this issue?
