I’ve heard that I can’t use the cable that came with my Xbox 360 Elite. I’ve also heard that I need a special CROSSOVER Ethernet Cable. Is this true?

im trying to get xbox live and i measured where i need to get the cable and its just barely more than 100 feet. is there any certain store or place online that has cables longer than 100 feet. all the place around where i live only have the 100s. Will a longer cord make it any slower? is there any way to connect 2 ethernet cords together?

1.Do I just take out the one that’s already in?

2.Or Do I just plug in the ethernet cord to the back of my computer(not the moniter)

OK, so i have a comcast Arris modem and a d-link di-524 wireless router… where my Ethernet cord a post to go for my xbox live there’s already a Ethernet cord there connecting to the modem. There are Ethernet slots in the router but i dont know if i can connect them in there. Where can i connect the Ethernet cord in the modem? If so how do i do it?

and i can put one of the ends in my xbox, but the other end wont fit into my wireless router or comcast cable modem….what do i need to get to hook up to xbox live?

I live in a rural area and can only recieve 56K Dial-Up. I really want broadband speed Internet run out to where I live because I play Xbox Live and am craving it badly. I am wondering how to request for this to be done, because Satellite Internet has a 2 to 3 second delay, and Xbox Live doesn’t function properly. Thank you!

ok so right now im at a hotel and im really bored and i have nothing tto do. in the hotel room all i have in my xbox, ethernet cord, laptop that cant pick up wirless connections and the little hole in the wall where i put in the ethernet cord to connect to my laptop. i tried connecting the ethernet cord to the xbox but it said it had a problem with the connection. what am i doing wrong? can some one please help me

I have an Xbox 360 downstairs, and the ethernet cord they give you in the box is not long enough so i have purchased a longer one. I’m wondering if I can directly hook it into my linksys router by my computer. Or, does this need to be plugged into a wall ethernet cord. Because when I did this before (into the router) I could not connect do to a problem with the MTU.

Im planning on buying an Xbox 360, but i have a wireless network at my house, and i dont have enough money to but the wireless connection for it. So would it be possible to just use the ethernet cable that comes with the xbox?

The apartment that I live in does not have an Ethernet outlet, only a phone jack. The landlord pays for our wireless Internet. Is there a cheaper alternative to catching the wireless signal than to buy the Xbox brand adaptor?
