2. Can I play Xbox Live and have someone else be on a seperate computer not hooked up to Xbox live be connected to the internet?

all right i i have the (computer, modem and router, a cat5 cable for the 360, and a 12 month gold subscription card) I have gotten these items but i have not actually done anything yet. what do i do? is there something i have not done that im suppost to do, please walk me thru it. Im trying to connect my 360 to xbox live and since XBOX is all automated now, nothing is helping. My x box is connected to my laptop through a Cat5e Network Cable. My laptop is connected to my linksys router (with optimum online connection) wirelessly. I created a bridge between my local area connection and wireless network.

Still, I’m receiving network errors. I would really appreciate some help because I’ve been trying to get this to work for a couple hours now.

My macbook connects to the internet through airport to a computer in another room. i was wondering if i could use an ethernet cable from the 360 to the macbook to get xbox live. if so how?

I just bought a 360 and wanna play live. Do i need an ethernet cbale wire to do so?

I am trying to connect to xbox live through my laptop using a regular ethernet cord. I follow all kinds of different tutorials but it doesn’t work. I have tried bridging and using ics.do you need a crossover one for it to work?

My roommate and I want to get hooked up to live. I came up with two solutions. One is run a cat5 cable through the wall, under the basement stairs through another wall and into the router. The other way is make wall jacks in both walls running the connection under the stairs and getting two shorter cat5 cables to plug into the wall jacks. My question(s) is which is more doable and cheaper? We are sort of on a budget, but willing to spend some money on this project if we have to.

Does it matter what ethernet cable i buy if i do buy one?My wireless adapter broke and i dont wanna spend 100 bucks on a new one.

i have an orange livebox.I also have a ethernet cable but when i connected it up from the livebox to the xbox it said disconnected….soo now im thinking i have the wrong ethernet cable and maybe i need a CAT5e ethernet cable….will this definitely work?
i just found an old ethernet cable lying about and i thought my xbox could take any ethernet cable but seemingly it has to be CAT5e and cables like that.
