I have a linksys router and recently moved into an apartment. I have the modem from SBC which is a motorola modem. But I am not sure how I can connect everything so I can use my laptop wirelessly. I moved from my parents house where I connected my router to my parents computer to get on the internet. But now I am not sure how to connect it with no other computer or a phone line.

Its all in the question. I just set up my other computer and I have a modem and router for wireless yet this is a desktop that is connected directly to my router. I just set up windows and everything and now its not picking up that there is an internet connection. Please help! Thank you! How do I access my internet on my newly set up PC!

I have 2 WRT54G routers. The second router is place in a spot so I can get a better signal. I did not have to buy a bridge or range extender because I wired cat5e in my basement. The router that connects to the other router’s switch port through the WAN interface is configured to operate in router mode and have RIP go through the WAN interface. The other router (the router that gives the other router Internet access) is configured in router mode and has RIP operating on the LAN interfaces. But when ever I configure these routers in router mode, the Internet will not work.

So i bought the SR2016 Linksys 16port 10/100/1000 switch today… well returned a broken one last week and waited for this one to arrive new…. i’m having the same problem as the last one, it just won’t pick up to it’s gigabit speed. I’ve replaced all Cat5 cables in the house with Cat5e(gigabit supported) and yet still cant get gig between 2 computers with gig cards. Before i go out buying useless Cat6 for trial-runs anyone have any ideas.

Hello. How do I go about shutting off the wireless feature of my Linksys WRT160N Router (Wireless-N Broadbrand Router)? I am not sure if this particular router has the option or not. I may be wrong. Please help me. I do not need the wireless running right now. I am only using the wired Ethernet ports at this time. Disabling this feature will help me in terms of security. Thank you!

I have a Black 60 GB EEE PC with 2GB Ram and Wireless Capabilities.
I have a linksys router, It is connected to my internet modem.

The router is connected to my normal computer to get the internet.

But how do I get the internet connection to get to my other room?

I have a switch linksys srw248g4 configured with many vlans, this switch gets access to internet through a switch cisco 2960, the problem is that the switch cisco does not recognize linksys vlans

I have a linksys wrt54g2 and every 4 or so hours I lose connection to the Internet. Then the Internet doesn’t work unless I unplug the router and plug it back in. I have gotten tired of unplugging the router. I have unplugged the router and just left the modem in and it worked fine so it’s not the ISP.

Installed Netopia 3346 ADSL MODEM with Linksys WRT54G but keeping dropping connection.?
Due to my work VPN I needed to purchase the Netopia 3346-ENT ADSL. I have it all set up and my work laptop connects, and my desktop works, it is just my personal Toshiba. I will get connected and after several minutes it slows way down or I get a “page cannot be displayed”. Could this be a firmware issue? O r do I need to re config something. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY, especially when I am doing something and I go to send an e-mail and I get the error message? Any help or website help woul be reallllllly appreciated.

would you know how to setup linksys wrt54g2 wirelesss-G broadband router with prolink h9200a adsl modem. (the prolink h9200a also has a router).

Everything else about the network is set up, however the network is not connected to the internet. We’ve had the router for a while, and have lost all of what came with it, so none of that will help. Thanks for the help!

I had a Netgear G router that I just went to http://192.168.1.1
and changed it there.

I have a zoom x5 which is a modem, gateway, router, firewall, 4 port switch connected to the internet and a switch port connected to linksys router, i tried logging into msn messenger through wireless, but couldn’t find dns. i tried bridging the zoom x5, but the two device seems like they are not connecting, why?
