my computer has an ordinary modem and can link up to a dial up connection but i also have an adsl modem that works of another computer how or what do i need to link my computer to the adsl modem so my computer can work of it

I have four LANs each on CAT5E in four buildings within the same yard, which I have to link together using the Optic fiber.Which type of fiber and terminating accessories do I have to use to enable modulation from electrical signal to light pulses and back to electrical as data travel accross the LANS to and fro via the Optic Fiber. What parts do these play in Fiber optics application ODF, SDH, DDF and how do I use them together with my switch 24 ports, 8 ports, to link my LANs for effective communications between the LAN via the Optic fiber.

I set up my desktop.. Now I connect my laptop to my router to the 2nd port. The router is reading it.
But when I try going online on my laptop, it asks for password and username. Now what username or password am I supposed to put down. My At&t dsl email and password, or the username and password I used for D link Di 604 webpage where I can change settings and stuff.( Anyways I tried both and its not working, cant get online.
I am completely confused. On my router Its green where I have my laptop connected on 2nd port.
Does anyone know what settings I need to set the D link, or what settings to check on my laptop to be able to access internet. Also when I type in the user or email and password I either get unable to establish a connection and sometimes I get connecting through Wan Miniport(PPPOE) Error 769 The specified destination is not reachable.. Do I have the connection set up wrong, what connection show I have on and what ugh
Keep in mind I have the D link DI 604. Its connected to my modem and my desktop is connected to the D link Broadband. All I am trying to do is connect the laptop too.

hi, i am using link WRT54GS router and i want to share internet to my new desktop, i try to connect it through Lan cable and in task bar it show as lan connected at 100 mbps, where as i cannot internet from IE or firefox, i tried to ping my router 192.168.1.1 from command prompt and it says sent4 received 4, lost0. but i cannot access internet, i tried to update firmware and reset my router but no use, most of time i see the status it show as, sent 150 where as received will be 15 whih is almost 50 times more than normal one. I tries to reset uninstall the driver for my system, but it is a brand new so unsure about other things, i am using windows xp home edition and my mother board AMD Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core/Athlon 64/Sempron CPUs
with HyperTransport Technology processors, Front-Side Bus (FSB) speeds up
to 1000 MHz.

I have a linkcheck from smartronix but it only tells me if a drop is hot. I would like a small tool to pull an IP so I know the VLAN the drop is on so I don’t have to carry around a laptop. I know Fluke makes a $500+ model but I was looking for somthing cheaper

i dont know what all these settings are for ppp on demand, ATM circuit identifier, ATM Encapsulation, Force Upstream MTU. ive been haveing to reset my 2wire alot mabye its junk? what can i do to make sure i have a good connection all the time?
