Was wondering if you needed a special type of laptop in order to receive mobile broadband from a comapny like cricket or verizon?

I am trying to connect to xbox live through my laptop using a regular ethernet cord. I follow all kinds of different tutorials but it doesn’t work. I have tried bridging and using ics.do you need a crossover one for it to work?

I have a laptop with a Verizon wireless broadband PCI card that allows me to access the internet. Is there any way I can share this internet access and create a wireless home network with it? Can I just connect a wi-fi (wireless) router to the laptop and have it work?

Whenever I try to connect, it says “The settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements needed to connect” or something similar to that.
Also, whenever I take the password off and leave it insecure, it connects just fine.
The only way I can connect is by using an Ethernet Cable from the router and my laptop.

Is there a way to turn laptop into wifi hotspot? it can’t be ad-hoc, the real wifi, it’s connected via a mobile broadband card.

My laptop will connect when I attach an Ethernet (CAT5) cable to it but it will not work with the wireless connection. The wireless connection has worked fine before and I have never had trouble with it. The laptop connects with the network but none of the browsers or programs are able to access the Internet. Anybody know a solution or what the problem might be?

I’m just wondering if my laptop is connected to the same wireless router by wifi connection and by an ethernet cable. Do I automatically get internet speed from the faster connection (most likely ethernet)? or do I get a mixture of the two?
