I don’t want a computer serving the devices, I want them to be available no matter what computer in my house is running. Just needs to be Ethernet and able to host many USB devices including printers, hard drives.

Why don’t people read? I don’t want a computer hosting the USB devices. I have Wifi and a wired network already. I jsut want to add to my existing network, a device like the one above, but the best one I can get.

I have a router, a laptop and a pc. I connect my laptop to router through wireless and my pc is connected via lan cable. How can I know how many devices are connected to my router by wireless technology? ( windows7 is installed)

a siemen 4100 mainstream modem. I’m using utorrent, when I check my port using (45682) it tells me it’s not open.Is there another port # I could use. But i seems to still be downloading. Thanks for your help. Can you explain so i can understand; this is new to me……

When you make a network using cat5 cables, you may make a bad connection that will let u use the internet but in the same time it has a bad effect on the internet speed.. you can get crazy trying to know why the internet is slow..

My question is:
Is there a way to know the performance of a specific connection and wether it is compatible with the network cabling specifications??

I know there are testers, but i wanna know a more simple way, using voltmeters or multimeters for example…

I have two options at the moment. First one is LinkSYS AG241 model and the other one is D-LINK 2640 model. I would like to know which one is better and in which options ?

We will soon need to replace our current router, as it’s not functioning properly. There are so many out there to choose from that I don’t know where to start, and the store clerks aren’t exactly helpful, and usually try to steer you toward something bigger (and thus more expensive) than you really need. The lights showing ethernet and internet keep blinking. Why is that?

I have a 50′ Cat5e ethernet cable running from the my router to my Xbox 360. When I do the connection test the IP Address fails. Is there anything I am doing wrong or anything I could try?

In linux it can be easily seen using the ifconfig command.

In solaris using the netstat -i -f command..

How come there is none in windows? Even the Ethernet OIDs ( RFC 1284 ) doesnt give any information about this.
