Im currently using Comcast’s broadband internet. Im just wondering if the phone jack is the jack that’s giving me internet or this other jack with a black attena looking cable is giving me it?

I’ve noticed my internet connection these days are a bit slow. Is this due to the LAN router or just the wire that goes around my house.

I have a desktop computer that does connect to the internet with the Broadband connection, but when i try to connect the broadband connection to MY laptop, it still doesn’t accept the network… Before, i could just connect the broadband to the laptop and get on the internet, but now it doesnt… I checked the options for Network and no idea what to do next…. Hi, my wireless router kept losing connection constantly so i got a switchbox (basically a router) to use instead. when i connect the laptop from the switchbox to the laptop with an ethernet cord i only get a local connection; and i need to have an internet conection.
Do i need to change settings on my laptop, or something else.. please help

How can I get broadband internet service on just my laptop? right now I have a 3 computer network and my brothers computer is the one with the modem, he’s moving out soon and that leaves me without internet access on my laptop. I know that you can get broadband cards that slide into a slot on the side of the laptop but where can I get service for a monthly rate and not just at hotspots but inside my house. No, its not the only computer in my house, I have a desktop, the bill is not in my brothers name, and I know they are called wifi cards and I have a router, I just want to know how I can get internet on my laptop. I think what I will do is just move the modem to my desktop and then I’ll still have access on my laptop like I have now. When he moves out he’ll have to set up his cable tv anyways so might as well set up his internet service too right? besides he can’t take the modem from this residence its not his its the cable companies and he doesn’t pay the bill.

I have a Wii system and I used to use Wi-Fi for internet access, however I moved to a rural area where I am forced to use a Mobile Broadband Device to get internet. My neighbor and I also work next door to each other. I give him access to my wifi connection (via his laptop) at work. He got high speed at home and has shared it with me (and my wife). Thing is, his wifi signal only barely arrives to our house, and only if we are sitting on the patio or in the bedroom.
I’ve got a linksys WAP54g (access point) and a Linksys WRT54g (router) and two laptops with wireless cards.
I can plug the AP into my laptop via cat5 and get the wifi signal and internet, no problem. I can configure my router to run a network at home and share files or use a networked hard drive. No problem. The problem seems to be when I plug the AP into the WAN port of the router, I don’t get internet via the router.
I upgraded the firmware on both AP and router. Still no dice. Feeling like I’m very close but must be missing something.

i have bsnl dataone broadband 500 plan …which i got last month…the bsnl dataone broadband guys told me i wud get internet download speed of 2MBPS but my connection only gets download speed of only 30 kb per sec. what sud i do to increase my bsnl dataone broadband internet connection

I have a computer that is connected to the internet that has a broadband modem and has a usb wireless router. How can i connect my other computer Everex that’s running on windows XP to the internet using the wireless router from the computer that does have Internet?

Max LAN Speed 10/100/1000Mbps port

but can only connect at 100mbps? why?

I don’t have a router, never will.
I only go from the wall outlet to my cable modem, then cat5e to my pc.

I am not trying to cancel my whole plan, I still want to keep my family plan, but I want to cancel the 5gb mobile broadband internet line, can I do this online? If I can, please tell me how, I just want to avoid having to call them.

I have ADSL and it says my speed is 512/126k what does this mean is it the speed my download will go or what?
