i was going to get Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster Technology but idk if it will work w/o broadband internet!! HELP ME!

I already have cable internet hooked up onto one computer, and a router for my laptops. So if I get another router for my other desktop computer would it be able to pick up an internet connection?

Ok, here are all the details i can imagine would be relevant.

I have the Linksys WRT54GS wireless router set up with the CAT5 network cable going to the “internet” port from my DSL modem. I have another length of CAT5 going from the “1″ port to the ethernet port on my desktop computer. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I can get into my router configuration and set up my wireless network. When I do this, my laptop sees the network, gets an IP address and connects to the wireless network but I have no internet connectivity for either my desktop or my laptop. I know they are on the same network because I can use the remote desktop feature on my laptop to log in to my desktop (the whole reason i started this project). Unfortunately it isnt doing me any good because I cant connect to the internet. When run the cable directly from the modem to the ethernet port on the desktop (eliminating the router completely) it works just fine, evidenced by the fact i’m able to post this. Help!

Is it possible to take a wireless router and plug it in to a internet plug and get wireless internet? im trying to do a project at school about internet access and am wondering if i can do this with a CAT5 Ethernet cord from a computer, will any setup be required? thanks.

I cancelled my BT Broadband contract, but 3 days after doing so, I am still able to use the Internet.

Any idea why this is? I don’t know if it takes a few days to turn off my connection? I would like to have it shut off before my new contract with another provider starts.

Ok, so before we begin, I need to split an internet connection that runs form the bottom of my house to my office. Here’s the situation.
I Live in a 3 floor house and my modem is located on the first floor. From my modem I have a wireless router.From there is a cat5e cable that goes from my router, outside on the side of my house to the 3rd floor to my computer.
I plan to add an xbox into my office and require a way to connect it to the internet. Can I split the connection from my cat5e cable in my office that is ALREADY coming from a router with another router? Theoretically it should work but i have never heard of anything like this, anyone got any ideas?

I’m getting a palm pre plus from att and am wondering how to connect my palm pre plus to my wireless router for internet from the wifi. Please answer!

I have a PS3 and the Ethernet cable, and I have no idea what to do to hook it up online.
I also have a router, and I have the ethernet cable in the LAN port on both the PS3 and the router.
The router isn’t lighting up, but I can’t hook it up to the modem because it’s upstairs and hooked up to the computer and phone, while the PS3 is downstairs.

How do I make this work?

I am connected through vierson wireless and I have broadband and when I open up a page on the computger it is slower than the second coming and it is totally fustrating, I need some direction on how I am supposed to increase the speed. My computer is new and I believe should respond to pages in a faster mode.
