What command would you use to configure a description of “Attached to Dept A LAN” for the Ethernet 0 interface starting at the enable mode prompt?

I ordered a dedicated internet service and i was told that the interface that will be supplied is V.35. I realize that i couldnt connect this directly to my device that only accepts ethernet connection. Their tech advised me to get a router from which i can connect my devices to it via ethernet.

What type and specs of cisco router do i need to buy and how do i connect it to my device.

I appreciate any suggestions or assistance.

I know you can use show run but if you have lots of configuration on that interface it might take you a while to see…do you know another show command that you can see the clock rate easily?

We currently have a Cisco 3540 router with some T1/E1 VWIC. We are currently experiencing about a 14ms delay when we ping them. We would like to introduce some artificial delay to get us around 40ms to see if our application can handle latency. I have tried configuring the interface, with delay, and transmitter delay but nothing works,

An addendum to my SiliconDust HDHomeRun video review. I stated earlier that this thing was very easy to install that you don’t even need to configure any network settings on it as long as you have a DHCP server in the house (your typical router that allows sharing of your internet connection would have one). Anyways, I found the IP address by logging into my router and look at the DHCP table to see what devices are using which IPs. After I found the IP address the HDHomeRun uses, I attempted to browse to it using a web browser. There’s something there! But there’s not much. I exit to exec mode and run a show interface and all I get is Serial is up, line protocol is down. How do I get the line protocol to also be up?
