Cat5, 6 , 8 etc or something totally different

I am also interested in what are the common problems/issues when setting up a home wireless network. Is it a better idea to just use a wired router?

i have tv cable that comes to the basement and splits of to 4 cables each go to a different room. Now is it possible for me to attach my cat5 cable with tape or something to the tv cable and another wire so that when i pull the cable form the basement it brings the cat5 cable as well and i just go back upstairs and pull the extra wire so that i have both cat5 and cable on the same place? cant this work or does the cable go in to the walls in a way that i cant just do this? i really don’t know what goes on in the walls how cables are setup and i don’t want to cut the walls to install the cat5
