i have bsnl dataone broadband 500 plan …which i got last month…the bsnl dataone broadband guys told me i wud get internet download speed of 2MBPS but my connection only gets download speed of only 30 kb per sec. what sud i do to increase my bsnl dataone broadband internet connection

i want to know if there is any way to tweek windows to get more out of the 1000 base card that i have. right now i normaly use only 1-3 % of the card when i look at the network tab of the task manager. but when i use a dos database i have i get up to 25-50%. i have ten or so pc on my network all having gig cards and a gig switch and running on cat5e

Hey there Y!Answers, i have a question thats really been bothering me about my ADSL speeds,
i have AT&T Elite (pointless IMO), and it claims “6mbps”, kinda low, i know. but my speeds cap out at 680kbps even though a speed tests claims i have 6.4mbps down.
so would wiring new Cat5e cables along the side of my house into the wall jack (i only have one that branches off into 2 other ones… i live in a really old house).
the cable thats connected outside my house is from around the 90′s or early 2000′s, (Not Cat5) but i recently had my phone line fixed and they halfway wired the outside with cat5e.
so would using cat5e cables THROUGHOUT the whole house and cat 6 on my routers really improve my speeds?
and if so how would i go about wiring the cables at the service box? (i noticed currently only 2 wires from inside the cables are being used… why just 2?) and i have my Linksys Wireless N/Gigabit router connected to my current AT&T router/modem and it seems pointless since its running off a phone line cable with only 2 wires being used (ironically the brand is 2wire),
so all together i was wondering if using cat5e wiring throughout would help increase my speeds, how would i go along wiring my Linksys router directly to the phone line rather than through the modem which makes it pointless, and how would i go along connecting it to the back of the house in the service box? (I installed new phone jacks and they all have cat5 connections but the 6feet of wiring leading into the house is really old wiring)

I am using sky wireless. How can i get to increase the bandwidth of my broadband internet connection because anytime i start any download on my laptop, no other PC in my house cannot browse again or it will be extrememly slow.

i have a broadband internet which gives download speed of 8 kpbs per second but i have heard about various softwares which increases speed oupto 375% or like that only. is there any way so that i can increase this speed to about 20 or 30 kpbs?

We have one router at the top of the house, but it has four floors, and it’s not possible to get a wireless signal. My friend gave me a second router (a decent netgear one) and I want to set it up on the second bottom floor so that it is possible to access the internet anywhere within the house. Any help on this is much appreciated, thank you in advance.

We have RoadRunner Cable, and PhonePower phone. When we are uploading/downloading something on the internet (we own a home-based design business, so this happens often), the quality of our calls is horrible (sometimes not even able to use the phone).

What (if anything) would fix this? A higher speed internet connection? Or should we look at switching to a phone line that is not VOIP?

im using utorrent 1.8.1 stable ver my download speed is 10-15 and upload 10-12 twice i got up to 80, the server which provides me my connection using pppoe has i think downgraded up speed to 10-15 can i some how increase my connection speed or atleast increase download speed i get 10download 10upload can i make my download speed 20 or sumthing pls help im trying 2 download naruto 1 ep takes like 8 hours or more to download

I tried using the router in my cousin’s place to transfer files using a wired lan connection and the transfer rate is 98Mbps. but when i tried using a cat5 crossover calbe, the transfer rate is just 40Mbps. how do i maximise the full potential of the cat5 crossover cable ? or is this the limit for this network connection ?

My internet connection speed is 256kbps(broadband), via ETHERNET(PPPoE). Every day, I receive the same speed only. But on one day, when I’m downloading a 40MB file, the download speed just got to 112KB/sec (that is around 896kbps), instead of 32KB/sec (256kbps). It took a very few seconds to complete the downloading and it was AWESOME! And I’m watering my mouth from then! Finally, my question is “Are there any ways, tricks, hacks, settings or software for such a wide range of improving net speed?” I’m eagerly waiting for your answer. Please don’t say that the speed is only 256kbps only. Please look up what the exact secret/stuff that goes underneath.

Is there any way to increase internet bandwith when you are living on steep hills? Does cable work or maybe t1 or t3 connection increase it somehow? If you have affordable suggestions for residential, your help is very much appreciated

I have got Connect’s broadband connection which gives me speed between 100kbps to 300kbps according to company. But actually the speed is very less. Can you tell me how to improve the surfing speed?
