Hi,
I have cable internet from Comcast, they installed a wireless router during my installation but the router is terrible. I want to upgrade my router by buying the best router on the market. However, all the routers on the market don’t have a cable outlet on the back like the one I have, although almost all wireless routers out there claim to work with both cable and dsl. So my question is how do I get these routers to work with cable without having a cable outlet on the back? Is there an adapter?

Thanks for the quick reply…I guess a couple of you got confused with what I was asking. As one of you stated, the router and cable modem are combined, so everything is done from one unit.

One of you mentioned that I can simply get any router on the market, use my current all in one unit as a modem and my new router as a wireless router via an ethernet cable.
Is this right?

Note: I’m not new to pc and not calling any router company because I want to talk to someone who understands what am asking.

This is my minecraft house. Although it subtle, the floor is an infinite pool of water covered by glass. I haven’t put enough time into the calculator so it only adds 2 bits (binary). Hopefully I will increase the amount of bits in the inputs. and have a multiplexer that switches from an addition and a subtraction circuit. Also sorry for the sucky quality

Can anyone suggest a good router to connect to modem to use throughout the house. My desktop is at one end of the house, while my room is at the opposite end. I need to connect two other laptops and my x-box 360 wirelessly with excellent connections.

So, what is a good router for this? I’m looking for a router within the price range of $50-100 and fairly easy to set up and use, and is dependable without any disconnections.

3 bedroom, 1 bath, about 1400 sf. Need to upgrade from 60 to 200amps. Run new wiring and outlets to all rooms, also run Cat5e and coax to every room.
Also if anyone knows a good electrician in Brooklyn to do the job.

I would like to know the service that is fastest.

Also the fastest way to connect internet to your computer.

I am only talking about commercially available to a private house. I cant afford to have any of those ridiculous internet connections that cost thousands (or more) a month that universities and businesses have.

How much is a T3 to have in your house? Is that faster than fiber optic set ups?
How would ram affect internet? RAM is Random Access Memory as in on my computer already. Then I wouldnt use the internet correct?

My current provider will give me 8mdps (up to) for 29.99, good deal? I currently pay nothing for 3 mbps, but its in an apt complex so I rarely get that.

within the last month I have been having internet difficulties. it has been half the speed of what it was and i have been frequently trying to find the source of the problem.

I use the AVG 8.5 network edition and at first i thought it was this, i looked in my systems tools option and found that there were 60 outgoing connections under the name of avgnsa.exe some to the same I.P others to seperate. I then disabled what i had read was the cause of this and disabled my link scanner and webshield. This had no effect, even though the connections stopped there were other connection now .I had super-anti-spyware free edition, spybot search and destroy but i removed them as i thought they may be a problem and may be what was slowing down my internet connection this was not the case and they had nothing to do with it.

i did a speedtest about two weeks ago halfway through when this started to occur and my rate was quite good, 128 ping, 5.64mb/s and 0.31 upload rate. one week later i tried this again and the ping was 151 the download rate was roughly the same but the upload rate either wouldn’t start or if it did it would say error after about 20 seconds of it just staying around 0.29-0.31.

I ran tuneup utilities 2009 and i cleaned up my computer creating an extra 30gbs of space and i thought maybe that was why, maybe there was to much crap clogging up my computer. not the case. I tried using netsh winsock reset in cmd.exe but nothing happend.

as i said the other computer’s in my house work fine.

I know this question has been asked many times before but I can’t find the solution to this problem.

I frequently disconnect from the internet for a few seconds and it slows down my downloads and it disconnects me from my instant messenger. At first I thought my router was the problem but my dad connects to the internet just fine. I’ve tried winsock, I ccleaner my computer & fix my registries, I use Malwarebytes and I have no malware. I just downloaded Avast, maybe that will help?

Any suggestions?

I also have another router that I could use if a wireless bridge is easier and more effective. The connection is poor from the back house, but I can still play.
I have a second router. Does anyone know how I could connect these two so I could get wireless reception from both areas?

I want to hack my xbox original but I dont want to keep it in my den right next to my wireless gateway. Is there something I could use that would allow me to plug in my wired xbox Ethernet to some cable so I could connect to my gateway?

I just got a PS3 and the WiFi tends to cut out for my online play. I have an ethernet cable and and a plate for an outlet, but I dont know how to put it into use. I have a ethernet jack upstairs but it is being used for another computer. Can i put another ethernet jack in my basement without having to run a wire from the upstairs to the basement? Thank you! (The cord i have is a Cat5 cord.

My house is a 2 storey. I had a desktop to connect my wireless router on the second floor. I had an xbox, laptop and an Ipod touch on the first floor. What do you think is the best wireless router do i need to buy to connect all of this without any loss of signal. I appreciate all that will suggest.

Ive always used wireless networking wondering if someone can provide tips/suggestions on proper method/way of setting up wiring in the walls (as far as why type of wiring is used, i notice there are several CAT5 and CAT 6 and such) among any tips towards common beginner mistakes
As far as not running parralel, is it okay to run them parralel if they are simply maybe higher up the wall? Ie if they are maybe a few feet apart

I worked a job once where they had ran every room and hallway to a wall panel in the basement. They ended up hard wiring into buses. They did not use rj-45s. I can’t seem to find anything like this on the internet. The only thing I can find are patch panels and other things that require rj-45s…..nothing that hard wires. Does anybody know where I can this or does anybody know what I’m talking about….you northerns should know. Here in the South, I’ve asked around and nobody has even heard of this.

right now there is already a router in our house(my mom’s) and she hates messing with it so i can play online so i was thinkin about buyin a new one before modern warfare 2 comes out… any suggestions?
