I need to a high speed connection to usb devices 30 feet away?

i want to automate my observatory but in doing so i will need several high speed connections (mainly usb 30′ away) to my computer, these are mainly usb for cameras. but also to open roof etc (the latter not being a problem) i have seen a 4 port usb to usb using an lan cable in between so it gets over the problem of usb cable range. so i was thinking of buying two of these units and using two cat6 cables and two 1gig effenet cards in the computer to overcombe the speed problem. does anybody have any knowledge of this sort of set up….answers on a postcard to…..lol. would be a great help as i have sorced all the automation equipment and software.

ADSL vs. SDSL – Can anyone tell me the difference between ADSL and SDSL high speed internet service?

Preference for someone with telecomm hardware/communications background look at this…

My company hosts 20-30 web sites and we currently have SDSL service 768K Down/768K Up about 179/month. We can get ADSL service of 4M Down/768K Up for about 99/month with static IPs.

But I have heard with ADSL vs. SDSL there are inherent differences in the technical architecture and you cannot just think about the speeds that are quoted. Even if the speeds quoted were the same, SDSL would either be faster or more reliable than ADSL?

Any comments on ADSL vs. SDSL related to:
1) communication infrastructure (protocols, equipment, etc)
2) impact of other ‘neighborhood users’ on my speed
3) reliability
4) other

TSH Level High and 12 Weeks Pregnant?

I’m 12 weeks pregnant and had a partial thyroid remove in August because I had a thyroid nodule on my right thyroid that was suspicious of cancer. It didn’t end up being cancer and I had blood work up 6 weeks after the surgery in mid Sept and all my thyroid levels were normal so my husband & I started trying for Baby #2 and conceived with no problems on the first try.

I had my first OB appt at 10 weeks and they tested my thyroid levels. My T3 & T4 levels came back normal, but my TSH level is high: 4.8. The nurse said she didn’t think it was any cause for concern and they will check my levels again in 4-6 weeks. I’m really concerned now and thinking I should have had my levels checked earlier in the pregnancy? I’m going to see an Endocronologist next week to see if I should get on Synthroid.

While the Internet is a great wealth of information it’s also freaking me out because some sites say normal TSH levels are 1-5, some say its between 1-3. And also if TSH levels are high during pregnancy it can cause low birth weight, mental retardation, etc. So my mind is RACING with the worst thoughts!!

Anyone experience this or have any insight??

How can I connect to high speed internet using an Ethernet cable on a computer with only a dial-up port?

I would like to connect an old PC to a high speed internet connection using an Ethernet cable, but this PC only has a dial-up port on the motherboard. How can I achieve this? How can I get extremely high speed internet to my home?

I live in the Orlando, Florida suburbs (zip code 32771) and need a much faster internet speed to support my family, and my job which requires connecting via VPN.

I have previously had Internet through Brighthouse, but never was able to achieve the download speeds they advertised service was very unreliable.

I currently have service through AT&T Bell South Fast AccessDSL Xtreme and I am very impressed with the reliability and am seeing the advertised speeds of 3MB. The problem is that they do not offer anything faster than 3MB which is completely unacceptable because I have a very active family when it comes to internet, and when they are on the internet it slows down my work computer bad.

I really don’t care about cost that much, within reason. I’m paying about $37.95 for the 3MB. I would pay five times that much money for 10MB but I don’t have a clue how I can get the service.

Is it possible to have a T1, T3 or OC3 connection run directly to my house, and if so how would I go about getting it done? I am looking for specifics here, like names of companies that can get me the speed that I need in the zip code that I live.

I won’t consider satellite internet because of the lack of upload speed.

It would be a plus to have a fixed IP address.

How do you get high speed (broadband) internet without subscribing to a cable service or AT&T’s DSL?

I found a great article about saving on cable TV by getting your favorite shows on the internet and using broadcast HD (or SD) TV via an antenna. These are great strategies, but, where I live the main providers of broadband internet are either the phone company or the cable company. I don’t want cable TV or land line phone service. How do I get just broadband internet service?

What are some good high speed internet providers?

Our business is located on the outskirts of town – Comcast Cable Internet is not available, neither is Verizon FIOS. Right now we are using DSL through AT&T but it’s far too slow for our tasks – remote desktop, VOIP. We were looking into getting a T3 line but it seems all are about several thousand dollars per month. Would satellite internet provide faster speeds than DSL? At about what cost? Are there any other alternatives?
