Would it be possible to buy a wireless router and connect it to the back of our old Mentor – 4-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet Broadband Router.

Right now i have a Netgear Router that cost 70 bucks but it sucks, my connection is only so fast and i lag alot in online games. I’m not using DSL i have comcast internet. Which router would be fast and gives off a strong signal, because my modem is on the third floor and i’m on the first floor with a laptop, i don’t like to go up there because the first floor is my living room.

I will use this on my 802.11g wireless network. I will use it to get internet access on my video phone for the deaf and hard of hearing. I want to connect this phone up wirelessly as its not practical for me to run 100 ft. of cat5 cable.

I have a DSL connection and the speed is 100 Mbps. I have a router connecting the two right now but when I sign in to Xbox live I can’t play any games all I can do is see my friends online. I have got a cheap router that we got when we had our internet upgraded. The problem is that, whenever there is more than one computer using the wireless network things get really really slow. So, my question is, what is the best router for multiple computers and devices(I also have my PS3 hooked up to the wireless network). well i whant to buy an Ethernet cable for my classic xbox360 cause the wireless one is to expensive i saw this one for $7 here at walmart

then i saw one in best buy but thats $30 but it probly more expencive becasue of the quality do u think if i buy the $7 one it will be slower ,will it will make my online gameplay slower or u think its good enough like without lags i have good internet if that matter on my ps3 i never get kicked out or anything but that one already has built in wi fi thank you in advacne and sorry if i didnt explain my self well

I play a lot of “Call of Duty” on the [PS3] and I took some action to get a faster internet connection (i had a slow one before).
I got a new router(netgear rangemax) and a cat6 ethernet connection

So I took tests and I got
Download rate: 20mbps
Upload rate: 2mbps
Ping: 38
Jitter: 1
Packet Loss: (for some reason, it shows up as “Unable to test Packet Loss”), i dont know why.
Line Quality: B
MOS: 4.33

I understand some of what those means, and I understand that
the lower the ms and jitter, the less lag.

So how do i decrease ping? and not lag and enjoy gaming?
Overall, i kind of need a breakdown on each stat above.

When i play, I ocassionaly get the lag. but otherwise, it’s definately playable,
i just want to see if I can make it better.

I’m currently getting Frontiernet and it really sucks. I do know that Mediacom broadband is really good, but I’ve heard that it’s really expensive. I’ve also tried Kalnet, but my connection always dropped at around 8 pm. What broadband provider do you recommend in the North Iowa general area? Thanks, your answers are always appreciated!

LAN show good connection and speed, can ping IP address, CAT5 cable has been checked, tried another port on the ethernet switch – but still can’t connect to internet. Is the TCIP/IP correupted? HELP!

I don’t want a computer serving the devices, I want them to be available no matter what computer in my house is running. Just needs to be Ethernet and able to host many USB devices including printers, hard drives.

Why don’t people read? I don’t want a computer hosting the USB devices. I have Wifi and a wired network already. I jsut want to add to my existing network, a device like the one above, but the best one I can get.
