I tried it five minutes ago and the two computers detect each other. My main PC upstairs said that its sharing and PC that i want wireless only detects the internet that isn’t usable. I definitely think that it’s possible but are there any suggestions?

Ok so my main Pc is upstairs with a wireless router and my laptop has the internet from that… So my other Pc is downstairs and i plugged my cat5 cable from the laptop into the Pc and something came up on the laptop, but it was insignificant. I don’t know what to do, someone please help.

I’m trying to make my wireless router act as only access point, and I was told to turn off NAT, DHCP and give it a static IP. I have already disabled DHCP but I need to know how to turn off NAT and what to do to get a static IP working. Thanks.

I am running two 2003 Small Business Servers. One is a dedicated Exchange and Symantec console. The other is a Domain controller, Terminal server, DHCP, and file server. I have only been managing these servers for about 1 – 2 yrs. I am doing my best to learn as I go. I am simply looking for words of wisdom from someone w/ experience.
I have made it a habit to look at the event viewers on both of those machines on a routine basis. Both machines have errors logged on them. Although, both machines seem to be running fine aside from the actual errors logged. There are no symptoms to report. I have done some reading and research on the specific event id’s. I guess my question is also, should I be pulling my hair out on each error logged on both those servers even if the machines show no other symptoms? I just don’t want to break something while I am trying to fix an error that does not affect my overall functionality.

Develop a Mathematica or MATLAB program that generate DTMF signals (sounds) that can be used for various operations such as phone dialing and remote control of devices via public switched telephone network (PSTN).

The program shall read a string of characters and generate DTMF signal for all characters in the set {0, 1, 2 ,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, *, #}, i.e. characters on the telephone keypad. The program will not generate any sound for non-keypad characters. The tone duration for each keypad character is 0.5 second and the pause between two consecutive keypad characters is 0.2 second. For example, for an input string “817-272-3472-*12 #113”, your program shall generate the DTMF signal for 8_1_7_2_7_2_3_4_7_2_*_1_2_#_1_1_3, where “_” denotes pause.

You should test your program to make sure that it can be used for dialing operation, i.e. try to dial a phone number (make a real phone call) using your program. Make your program as user friendly as possible.

Note:
Before you start programming, you need to do some study on DTMF tones. There are many resources on the web that explain how DTMF system works.

i currently have cable telephone and plan to cancel it and get dry loop.. however i was told that i may need to pay a tech to rewire the telephone wires as cable telephony had disconnected certain wiring

can i do this my self? also, if i live in an apartment, do i need to have the tech do this additional re wiring to get dry loop on?

My kitten was chewing on a CAT5 cable. I don’t think it was completely punctured, so I put some electrical tape around the area. My question is: can a pet get an electric shock from a CAT5 cable? It’s the only cable I have that isn’t in a plastic tube.

I have a number of computers on my network. One of them is a server that is connected via a gigabit ethernet hub to two other computers. All the rest of my computers access my main (internet enabled) network wirelessly. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to connect the two networks so that the server can be internet enabled without needing to run cat6 cable throughout my house. Since i have a ethernet hub, i gave the ethernet cards on those computers static ips (192.168.0.x) while the wireless network uses dhcp to assign ips (192.168.1.x) The ethernet works fine for file transfers, and the wireless network works fine, now i want to connect them so that the server can access the internet. Thanks for any help or ideas!

My laptop currently has a Internet Network Card and is connected to the internet. I also have a CAT5 cord. How do I give internet to my desktop wth my laptops internet? I know it has something to do with a gateway? Some quick steps would help, thanks!!
