I have what I believe to be straight run cat5 cables to each room in my house, non of them are labeled as to which room they go to. How can I figure out which one goes where?

Also, most of them seem to be hooked up for phone line already, all of them having the blue pair of wires connected to a hub piece, and 2 of those having a second pair connected to the incoming gray wire from the shaw box (phone line).

Lastly, I want to hook the room where my router is to the room where I want internet. So I’m making sure that once I find these two wires, I can simply connect all the colours together (blue to blue…) and then plug from the router to the wall and then get internet on the other end?

I recently installed a new modem…I cannot connect to the internet because my ethernet controller needs to be updated.

However, i can’t find the manufacturer and model number for the ethernet driver. the issue is, when I go to device manager its showing up blank with no details. i want to find it without opening the computer. I have an HP. and want to download the driver onto a cd and install onto the computer that needs it.

I need to access the wireless router on my network and I don’t have any idea what the ip adress is, is there a way to search the network for all devices connected to it?
Its the thing that the laptop connects to wirelessly to connect to the network. I do NOT want the ip adress of my computer or the default gateway i want the ip of the router.

Where can I find free ebooks online to download subjects like Digital signal processing, VLSI Design, Microwawe engineering, Telecommunication and Switching systems and Microprocessors and Interfacing?

The router drops connection brand new out-of-the-box. I was told that if I rolled back the firmware, that would solve my problem. Apparently this is a known issue with this device. Any suggestions?

Our company is about to upgrade to V7, from V4. We recently had a big problem and I realised how little I knew about it all. I need to learn about the architecture involved, how CM itself works regarding gateways, lists, hunts, all that shit, and the protocols that talk between to the voice routers.

I’ve been tasked with finding some ‘different’ looking cat5e cabling. I work at a creative agency, and the powers-that-be have determined that the standard color cabling for the network is not acceptable for station drops. So, I’m trying to find something that is different than the norm, whether it is something striped, patterned, wrapped in blinking light (we have PoE switches, if that helps) to make it look like what people think fiber cable looks like…. I’m sure you get the point.

Yes, I mean the outer sheath. Not the actual wiring inside the cable. I’d like to avoid spray painting the cables – that’s way too much effort for me.
And “think fiber looks like” means flashing lights running back and forth through the cable. Basically a combination of christmas lights and a patch cable.

Searching for a graduate school to major in Telecommunications is like looking for a needle to in a haystack.So if anyone knows how i can narrow down my options…i’ll be glad to hear it.
Ok i guess i have to rephrase the question for clarity. I just finished my first degree in Electrical/Electronics in Nigeria and looking towards a masters degree in telecommunications in the US…just to give me a slight edge back here. I just found out that finding the right school isnt thateasy. So if anyone how knows how i can narrow my options down….i’ll be happy to hear that.
