Hello,

I recently bought a set of SMC Gigabit NIC and installed into both of my PC. Both PC are running Windows XP and the latest NIC driver. The cable is Cat6 and that SMC card support auto cross-cable.

Here is the problem I facing:
- When using 1Gbps speed, i copy a file from one to another. After that, i failed to use that file because of corrupted.
- I tried change the speed to 100Mbps and copy the same file again and it works.

So i decided to check on the files I copied. I wrote a program using VB that compare both files byte to byte. And i get difference in around 100MB. (The file was 400MB)
I would like to know is there any problem with Windows XP using gigabit ethernet? or is there any other cause?

How to install andregister MSWINSCK.OCX on Windows Vista! The first thing we have to do is to download the MSWINSCK file. go here www.afreeocx.com and download. When downloaded, put the MSWINSCK file in your C:\windows\system32 directory REMEMBER: DO NOT OPEN THE MSWINSCK FILE! When you have put the mswinsck file in your system32 directory open start menu and in the search box write cmd just wait until the command prompt comes up. I’m trying to run Squidguard with squid to help protect a school’s network from accessing inappropriate material. The school’s computers have their IP addresses allocated by a DHCP server with a TTL of only 4 hours. As IPs are not static, I would like to use hostname instead of IP to specify the clients for the rules in the squidguard conf file. Is this possible? If so, how?

I am in the middle of a migration from our mainframe. We currently use CA’s TCPAccess product for ftp and telnet. To cut costs I want to eliminate TCPAccess and use IBM’s TCPIP stack. I have “snake files” on the mainframe that look like 80 byte records but are in reality one big record that spans multiple 80-byte records. When I ftp using FTP2 under TCPAccess, the file is present to Unix as one big record. When I ftp using IBM’s product, it inserts a CR-LF at the end of each 80-byte record. I had used an XLATE table in CA’s product to eliminate the CR-LF but cannot find a way to eliminate them under IBM. BTW, I am running z/OS 1.4 and cannot upgrade the OS to 1.7 or 1.8 due to HW constraints so I am stuck with an unsupported OS. I am dumping redundant SW to save $ thru the end of the project.

How do I create a simple .BAT file that includes logging into a cisco device, running a cisco “show command” , then exit from the switch.
