Battlefield Bad Company 2: Failed to connect to EA online.
I solved my problem by doing the steps from the following link. www.battlefieldheroes.com If you want to know if you have the problem I had realy fast, you can try to load this page profile.ea.com . If you can, you don’t have my problem. If you can’t load this, then you have the problem I had and I would suggest on clicking on the link to the bfh forum and follow the instrucions
!!!!!If this isn’t the problem, you might just want to have a look at your firewalls. Lower them a little. When you’re on a router put your IP on DMZ,.. Since the Battlefield Heroes forum seems to go down sometimes, I quote here the post that I posted a link of. “I found that in my case the Error 1002 Unable to Connect was caused by an incompatibility between the EA server software and a new feature in Windows Vista called “Explicit Congestion Notification”, or ECN. It’s not on by default in Vista, but some Internet Optimizer software turns it on. I think this same feature also exists in Windows XP with the newest updates and Windows 7. To see if you are affected and if the steps below are likely to help, try to access the following link: profile.ea.com I was unable to pull up this page in any web browser, it just gave a connection timed out error. After trying this fix, I am now able to load this site and can connect to the game! My Specs Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate SP2, all advanced network features turned on. I am using the Windows Vista built-in firewall. I had previously tried disabling …
VISTA Home Premium Connection Status: Unknown The Dependency Service or Group Failed To Start?
My girlfriend’s Toshiba laptop has WIndows Vista Home Premium.
She turned it on yesterday and a driver install thing randomly popped up.
She didn’t know what it was and neither did I so she hit NO when it said to install.
After that she was no longer able to connect to the internet.
When you hover over the wireless icon it says “Connection status: unknown The Dependency service or group failed to start.
I have tried numerous fixes and none have worked.
Under the NETWORK ADAPTERS in the device manager all have the triangle/exclamation mark.
When I right click and hit properties it says “This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).
When I go to Computer Management and Services I right click DCHP client and it says
“Windows could not start the DHCP Client service on Local Computer”
Error 1079 the account specified for this service is different form the account specified for the other services running in the same process.
When I try to start Network Location Awareness.
It says Windows could not sart the Network Location Awareness on Local Computer.
Specific error code 1073741288.
I’ve tried the “netsh winsock reset catalog” fix in command prompt run as administrator and reset.
This still did not fix the problem.
I thought it might be a firewall problem however when I try to change any firewall settings it says that Windows Cannot Start Firewall Service.
She is the administrator on the laptop.
We don’t have the disk the laptop came with and might not for a week or so.
Does ANYONE know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for trying.

I turned on my computer and it was abnormally slow turning on… It was on the welcome screen for like 4 minutes, then black. I then could not get on the internet and tried to click a program and this came up: WSAStartup() failed, or you have the incorrect version of WinSock installed. I do not know what to do. I am on Vista Home Basic and have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Thanks if you can help.
