Internet Explorer and/or Firefox wont work?
While helping a friend with his network, 2 out of about 20 machines cannot use a web browser. They can retrive their email via outlook, ping google, and connect to a messenger service. I have tried a winsock fix, uninstalling the ethernet device, and hard setting the dns without success. Does anyone have any suggestions that doesn’t involve reinstalling these machines?
I’ve tried turning the xp firewall off as well, no luck there either.
Suddenly Internet Explorer will not connect to the net. Any ideas how to revive it?
I have foxfire installed on the same pc and it is working . I would use foxfire soley but one message board I haunt refuses to let me log in from foxfire. I could until I downloaded the last foxfire upgrade. So I really want a browser that allows me to go there. Explorer was letting me do that until last Saturday. I checked for winsock.dll. Tried a simple scan and virus scan. Getting freaky here as the weekend approaches.
Wireless internet connection working for Instant messenger but not for windows explorer?
I have a wireless connection. My instant messenger programs are working fine, however i can not browse the internet on Explorer. Any way to fix this problem? I have already tried to system restore. network diagnostic says something about the winsock needs to reset..but when i reboot nothing happens. HELP !
My instant messengers work but internet explorer doesn’t?
How can I fix it? I tried winsock reset already.
It happened when I removed a virus.
