Cannot find Server: Internet Explorer error message.?
I am using my library’s computer to post this message.
My browser’s do not work.
I also get a message from Foxfire browser that the connection has been interrupted.
I have scanned for adware and viruses and seem to be clean.
One thing is that on my home computer I can bring up Yahoo but when I try to log on to my account it returns with a blank screen.
I can browse some websites but when the web page has to post some information from the screen it seems that it never gets back to the web hosting site and the server times out.
I have also tried HijackThis and the entries there do not seem strange.
Is it something to do with Winsock?
I have ordered a DSL modem from the phone company but would like to make sure my computer O/S is good before I install it.
Any suggestions?
Internet 8 explorer problems!??!?
Internet Explorer isnt wanting to work right!?!?!?!?!!?
I have wireless internet, but IE will not work correctly!!!
It has been extremely slow, and most pages come up ” internet explorer cannot display the webpage” etc.
When putting in a site address (cnn.com, etc.) sometimes search results come up saying the address cannot be found or Sometimes, I have to refresh the page more than 3 times just to sign into sites!
I have ran 3 different programs : malware, spyware, etc. (ccleaner, malwarebytes malware remover, etc. )(and I have had microsoft security essentials for over a month!) And removed 1 backdoor.bot, but that was it and the IE problems are happening on 2 different laptops –
I have reset the winsock, too, via CMD as administrator….I tried turning off my security programs and firewalls, that didn’t help…Even updated my shockwave player to 10.1, but no help…
And When I try to diagnose my internet explorer 8 problems, its says there is none…even microsoft fix it didnt find anything…
Our main desktop computer is online via a dsl box, and it works fine…But just to make sure we rebooted our dsl, and it didnt help at all!!!
The wireless internet connection strength is 5 out of 5 bars!
The pages are even starting to freeze now, and saying ‘not responding, even though the signal strength is as high as it can be!!!
What could it be?!?!!?
I tried everything but the restarting my computer….no help so far…. sigh…

I have tried the following but nothing seems to work :
Start, Run, cmd /k netsh diag gui
Enable all options and run the test.
and
Start, Run, netsh winsock reset
Wait for the prompt to restart the computer. Restart the computer.
and
Type netsh int ip reset reset.log then press enter (to reset tcp/ip stack to installation defaults).
NOTHING worked.
It is tottaly shit.
And it signs into msn, and it stays for 5 minutes, then i am still online, and see who i comin online, but when i send a message to anyone it says “This message could not be sent to all recipents”.
And it says it has a problem with my Proxy Server and sometime with my Key Ports.

Internet explorer 8!?!?!?
I have Internet Explorer 8 & Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit oberating system.
2 of our home laptops are connected to the internet (and both have experience this issue) via wireless, but our main Desktop computer is plugged directly into the DSL box and works fine!
My wireless connection strength stays at 4/5 bars out of 5!)
My internet explorer has been working extremely slowly, not wanting to display website pages, and sending me to search results when I enter an http:// address….When I am able to login to a site, I have to refresh the page 3-5 times to get a readable portion of the site to load! Sometimes my IE loads so poorly, that it says ‘not responding’, and I have to restart it and try again..
My computer itself has 68.9 of 103 GB free on the c:/ drive….And my computer loads relatively good.
I have tried the following remedies, but nothing has helped :
* Microsoft Security Essentials constantly runs on my computer.
* Ran over 3 different computer cleaners (ccleaner, malwarebytes malware remover, etc.), which removed 1 backdoor.bot.
* Tried turning off all of my firewalls, security programs etc. to see if there were any conflicts.
* Reset the winsock via CMD as administrator.
* Updated shockwave player to 10.1 version.
* Tried to diagnose internet explorer 8, but even microsoft fix it found nothing.
* Tried running IE without any addons or programs.
* Went to internet tools, internet options, advanced and unchecked “show friendly http error messages” (Didn’t help, so I re-checked it.)
* Did a cmd sfc/scannow – windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations.
* Added several sites to my trusted sites with my online tools & security options.
* Even tried resetting my Internet Explorer and restarted my computer!
* Ran disk cleanup, cleaned out my %temp% cache, and defragmented all drives!
* Ran RegInOut 2.0.0.1000.
* Did a system restore to 14 days earlier!
* Uninstalled Yahoo Messenger.
* Set Windows Firewall to allow Internet Explorer to get thru.
* Diabled Windows Live in IE add ons.
* Repaired Windows Live Essentials (repaired 4 of the programs) & restarted computer.
* Uninstalled Windows Live Essentials (family safety & writer programs).
Nothing is helping! What could it be, and how can I fix this?!?!?
Internet explorer broken?
Ok so I have this PC at work that is extremely locked down, but none the less it *had* access to the internet. It was sent away to be updated with a patch and it came back and no longer could access the internet. Internet explorer just times out no matter what site and says page cannot be displayed. Here is the interesting part I have fiull access to LAN services and an installed PING tool lets me ping domains and I recieve a valid reply from a valid IP address, indicating to me that it is connected to the internet. Could it be a porting or a winsock issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Windows Internet Explorer isn’t connecting to the internet and I can’t figure out why…can you help?
I’m using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Internet Explorer. My laptop was recently attacked by Malware…I believe some variant of Antivirus 2009. It disabled my internet use, plagued me with pop-ups, shut down Spybot S&D, etc. etc.. It also changed my background to a “warning, your comp is infected by spyware” (I can’t remember the precise wording, unfortunately).
ANYWAY, using safe mode, Spybot S&D, Symantec Antivirus, and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware programs, I managed to get rid of the infection. However, now, Internet Explorer refuses to connect to the internet.
I use a laptop with a wireless connection to my home network. When I try to boot up Internet Explorer, I get a “cannot display webpage” message.
My Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings are checked off on “Automatically detect settings”, “use proxy server for your LAN”, and “Bypass proxy server for local addresses”.
As for what I’ve tried so far:
I removed my old version of Explorer (six), replaced it with 8, and then replaced that one with Seven. The Windows “Fix It” utility didn’t fix the problem. LSP-Fix by cexx.org couldn’t find any problems with my system (including my winsock, which is apparently fine…I reset that a couple times, just to make sure).
Windows Firefox is working fine; I set it to “detect proxy settings automatically” and it’s got perfect connectivity. The only reason I need explorer is because iTunes runs through Explorer’s connection to get to the store, and I want to purchase music.
Any suggestions on how to fix my Explorer connection, or what could be wrong? Or, failing that, how to re-route iTunes through Firefox, if possible.
Thank you!

Internet Explorer 8 is not working at all even though Firefox works fine on the same computer?
I have tried diagnosing the connection and it came back something with the Winsock problem I believe is what it said… I attempted to restore that and restart and still nothing…
I am on a wireless connection however Mozilla Firefox is working fine on the same computer that Internet Explorer 8 is not working at all…
Anyone have a fix for this and please don’t say just use Firefox because I need to get onto Explorer for an online application I have to fill out for a interview I have on the 9th…
Thanks to all who answer

I Am Connected to the Internet, but Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpages?
-I’ve checked pings for a DNS issue, and I usually get 4 replies.
-I’ve reset my Internet Explorer Advanced Settings.
-I’ve checked the Internet protocols and they are set to be automatic.
-I’ve tried deleting winsock and winsock2.
-I’m NOT working offline.
-Internet Explorer does not work in Safe Mode, but I am still connected to the internet.
Diagnose Connection Results
“www.yahoo.com” is not set up to establish a connection port on “World Wide Web service (HTTP)” with this computer
It also asks about verifying a proxy server
So what’s going on? I can’t think of anything else.
It might be malware? I’m not sure.
Explorer crashes and No internet access. After using both Pfconfig and tcpoptimizer.?
I downloaded both Pfconfig and Tcpoptimizer today to speed the download of a torrent i’m downloading in bitcomet. Unfortunately after using tcpoptimizer, i rebooted my computer and logged in to find explorer.exe crashing every 15-30 seconds, and now i dont seem to have an Ip address or something like that, since i have no more internet access. I checked the network settings as best as i could, but that crashed with explorer as well before i could figure out much. The IP address and subnet were blank completely. I dont know what could be causing the instability in explorer to have it constantly crash and start up, crash and start up, but i cant do anything anymore. I tried a winsock fix, did nothing. Can anyone help me out?

Why is internet explorer ignorant of my wireless internet connection status?
I have a connection thats a long shot 1000 ft away, way further than what wireless g is rated for, but when it’s up I get 1-1.5 mbps internet which is fine for traveling. The problem is when the network comes back up and I am getting good pings, I will hit the refresh button on internet explorer 100 billion trillion times and it says unable to find the page, when I diagnose the connection Windows Vista says there is not a problem, and the pings are still rolling with minimal latency and no dropped packets to the same website I am trying to browse to. Why does internet explorer 7 and 8 get ignorant and lazy? My cellphones internet explorer does the same thing, it will get e-mails over Ev-DO but it will say repeatedly cannot find the page. That’s a seperate story though. It was never a problem with XP or IE 6. If your up your up if your down your down with XP.
