ADSL line down exactly the same time every day?

Hi,

I have a wireless ADSL modem and my line goes dead evey day at 9.36 PM.

Any ideas what is causing this. Even my provider doesn’t know the answer!

cu,

Jane
It has nothing to do with noise. I has been going on for 4 weeks now. Nothing changed so I don’t know what is happening.

Computer Shuts down a second after start up?

Yesterday the power went out and i have a battery back up so i promptly shut down my machine. I go back today and the computer will turn on but a second later shut down. Now the computer, monitors and the router is all powered by this supply and no damage was done to anything else. Also we have 2 other computers, with no protection, hooked up to this network as well as a switcher and some game consoles. Everything else is fine and works as intended. The one thing that i didnt have protected is the cat5 cable. Been meaning to get it protected but didnt have a spare cable to connect from the supply to the computer. Even though the cable itself wasnt protected the router was, can the surge skip the router and just damge the motherboard? So it seems that my motherboard is shot and need to now be replaced. Funny how the only computer with anysort of “protection” gets damaged…

others : I have tryed to plug the computer into the wall different outlets, everything, the Power supplie powers up the monitors and router fine and to me is working as intended. The battery back-up is a APC BACK-UPS ES 8 Outlet 650VA 120V which has surge protection so i dont think it would be power supply. Fans/sinks are all fine. All fans turn on and i dont hink anything has a chace to over heat. the computer stays on for no more them a second

How to detect ethernet cables on punch down block?

We have a punch down block at my work. We have all these cables punched down to it, but the cables go into the ceiling, some of which were cut, and are just up in the ceiling going many yards into other areas through out our large building. The problem we have is, we cannot just pull these wires off the punch down block because we dont know which goes where. The people who worked this IS department before us messed everything up. Anyways, this punch down block that I’m talking about is used to telephones. The facilities people use cat5 for some reason. We would use a tone generator to put one end on one end of the line, and the tone generate where the “dead” lines are on the punch down, but like I said, all these wires are up in the ceiling and duct work from all the remodels through out the years. They didn’t take time to label anything, and re-install this same cable into the phone jacks on the walls, instead assuming it would just get newly reinstalled lines. Any good ideas?

HELP! my internet connection is slowing down!?

I have an 8mbps cable connection. but the best i have ever seen is 1 mbps. which was a LONG time ago. now, my internet is getting so bad that i cant even play xbox live. it lags way too much! i get red bar everyday! i have tried lots of stuff but none works. ive had this problem for a couple of months. i asked my ISP and they say that we have the fastest connection available and there is no other way its being slow. For instance, i used to be able to click the HD button on a youtube video and it would not stop to load the video and i could watch it the whole way through! it was fantastic! but now, mine wont even load a normal SD quality video without stopping to load. someone please help! is my equipment wearing out? do i need new cables? does it have something to do with the underground cables? i have a 100mbps ethernet connection and a 54mbps router and CAT5 cables. do i need CAT6? do i need a new router? should i call my ISP again and ask them to look at the cable leading into my house? please somebody help!

Why does my internet keep going down?

My internet goes down like once per minute.. for about 2 to 3 minutes. I performed a virus scan which came back clean. Also my brother is playing PS3 online in the other room and his keeps going down as well! Is this a service provider issue or what!?
I have high speed fiber optic cable, a 100 mbps modem, and a router that connect to some Cat6 adapters.
None of my friends have this problem with their internet, but they all have DSL, and their houses are setup the same way, last time i checked my speed it was 5.4 MBPS for data transfer. Can anyone help???

Can I Punch Down a Cat 6 cable in a Cat 5e patch panel?

Our network is currently made up of all cat 5e components. We are adding new office space and I was going to wire the new addition with cat 6 components just because it’s newer. (Not that we really need it) I was wondering if cat6 can be punched into the existing cat 5e patch panel. I want to leave the existing wiring alone for now. Also, can I use the cat 5e RJ-45 connectors that I currently have for the cat 6 cable and can I use the same crimping tool that I currently have that is for cat 5e? The only physical difference that I could see is that the cat6 uses 23 awg wires and the cat5e uses 24 awg wires, which is a difference of about .0025″.

what type of cable do I need to run down to my sons room. from router to xbox. I got cat5e..and didn’t work

Is it possible to punch down wires without using a tool?

I’m trying to activate the CAT5 ports in my house and I bought a patch panel to punch down the CAT5 wires into. I don’t want to spend another $50 on a tool. Is it possible to punch down the CAT5 wires into the patch panel using my fingers? or just another thin-pointed object and shove the wires into the patch panel?

The Healing Rain Is Falling Down on Egypt!

These are still pictures taken from cell phone videos that the demonstrators were getting out to blog sites, via friends in the UK, or public TCPIP addresses after the dicatator shut down all communications. Their words must be heard and this is my contribution in doing so, thank you!

Does VoIP work when cable service is down?

I have tv, phone, and internet through my cable company. When the cable company has problems, I have no internet or phone connection , although the tv generally continues to work.
I’m considering switching phone service to Voip and understand the computer doesn’t have to be on. I just realized, however, that I bet the cable connection itself has to be working. Right?

Why does Ares slow down the internet connection on other computers in my home network?

When my girlfirend runs ARES on her laptop, my PC’s internet connection dramatically slows down. She is connected wirelessly to the router and I am connected by a lan line(CAT5). We have Road Runner high speed internet. She is only downloading like 3 or 4 sonags at a go, so I can’t for the life of me figure out why that would dramatically effect my connection. Ironically, I am positive that this is the case because the second she completely exits ARES or her downloads complete, my connection works normally again. If any one has a suggestions to solver this or an answer to why this is happening, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Is it true that a longer ethernet cord slows down your internet?

Pro Tone Pedals – Rhino Dual Octaves Down Fuzz II – bass tones, funky tones

The Rhino is a modulation pedal that lets you select one or two octaves down from your original signal and allows you to blend it with a non-octaved fuzzed out signal. It’s a single-note device…playing below the 12th fret is glitch octave land, unless you palm-mute or have some hot pickups! Above the 12th fret it tracks amazing, thick octave notes! The blend control allows you to get into some really thick and funky tones!
