Domain Hijack When Browsing DTAC Network From My Computer Via Bluetooth?
I received a message that my connection was not secure and could be viewed by others when attempting to access my yahoo email. I performed a HijackThis which said the following lines are all hijacks!
O1 – Hosts: ::1 localhost
O13 – Gopher Prefix:
O17 – HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{FCC1D93E-03FA-494C-BDC6-96CE70DC587F}: NameServer = 192.168.165.1 203.155.33.2
I deleted all lines. Disconnected from the DTAC (Thailand EDGE/GPRS Service Provider) network and performed another HijackThis scan while offline and everything appeared to be okay. However, when I connected again from my computer to the DTAC network using my bluetooth. Line 017 came back again. This time with a different IP address. I will paste below so you can see exactly what I am talking about.
O17 – HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{FCC1D93E-03FA-494C-BDC6-96CE70DC587F}: NameServer = 192.168.165.1 203.146.237.237
I contacted DTAC customer support which indicated that no one has ever reported this problem and that I will be receiving a call back from tech support. Needless to say, I never received that phone call. I know, I know….”Welcome to Thailand.”
All kidding aside. Can anyone tell me how eliminate this problem and how to prevent this from happening to me agian; short of switching providers? I would like to keep DTAC since they seem slightly faster then the others for downloading. Although, 15kbps isn’t anything to be excited about.
Cheers!
How to completely disable DHCP in an Advnced Server 2000 Active Directory Domain Controler?
This is a P2P network behind a Pix 506. The PIX is running DHCP and a VPN to sister location. Switching to the domain, I am not able to get DHCP to release. On my test login computer, I can login to the P2P (DC Not Connected) and get an IP with no problem. I can also do a release/renew with no problem. When I plug the DC in and do a release/renew, I get a message that the system is trying to use an IP address that is already in use. When I unplug the DC and renew, it renews back to the P2P with no problem. The DC originally had DHCP installed for some testing purposes, but it is now removed. Anyone have an idea what is going on or what I need to do? Thanks in advance.
Vista computer cannot obtain an IP Address from DHCP after it has been added to Windows 2003 AD Domain?
At work, we use a windows server 2003 environment with our own DHCP and DNS Servers. We have some group policies in place but they hardly place any restrictions on users being able to get around the network.
Now when I first use a Vista computer before it is added to the Active Directory Domain, DHCP works flawlessly. However, after adding it to the domain DHCP stops working completely. A network sniff shows that communication is happening between the DHCP server and the Vista computer, and that the DHCP server is even offering an IP address, yet the Vista computer doesn’t seem to take it. When I give the Vista computer a Static IP address, however, it works just fine. Any ideas would be appreciated.
IPCONFIG doesn’t seem to work. I get a “Access is Denied” message when trying to release or renew.
What is host & domain name for PPPoE setting? Singnet broadband to setup home wireless network?
My modem is Thomson Speed Touch 536. Wireless router – Trendnet TEW 411 BRP plus. The ill informed Singnet technical support unable to advise how to configure so that the router & modem can “talk”. Any SingNet Broadband customer knows?
Singnet fellas say try using Singnet Broadband or singnet.com.sg as the host or domain name but does not work for me still. It seems they are taught to configure Linksys or D Link routers only. Others they say they are not trained.
