I am using BellSouth’s internet with a modem I got when I lived in Missouri and was using SBC. As you can tell, I have no problem getting access to the internet on my PC but I am trying to connect to Xbox Live and I get a warning that I don’t have enough MTU and that I will not be able to connect to Xbox Live with a certain amount.

I understand that I should be able to configure the modem via the configuration page on the bottom which would be »192.168.0.1 but I can’t log-in to adjust any settings because I’m not registered as an SBC user any longer.

Also, I have a Linksys Broadband router which I am told should fix the issue because the problem is that the 360 tries forcing its way right to the internet and the PPPoE on the modem blocks it. However, I can’t even get an IP address using the router on my laptop and I no longer have the software. I’m completely stumped so any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh! The model of my modem is a SpeedStream 5100 with part number 060-E142-
As a note, I don’t currently have the router connected and am solely running the router. The username as admin and password are for the router I believe. My problem is, I don’t have the installation CD to install the router and also, it’s a Vonage router so I am not sure it will even do me any good anymore.

Anyone know how to change modem settings such as DHCP without accessing the SBC site for this modem?
Okay! I tried logging in to 192.168.0.100 and it just says it isn’t a valid address, I can still access advanced settings via 192.168.0.1 so I am trying to see what I can do through there.
Okay! Another update, I upgraded the MTU to 1500 on my modem but for some reason, my 360 is still saying I don’t have enough despite the fact that the minimum needed is 1364, any ideas what I can do now?
