These cables enable a user to cennect two routers that have WAN Interface Cards (or WIC) installed to create a router to router connection. The user may have either Cisco WIC-1T, WIC-2T, NM-4A/S, or NM-8A/S modules. Connecting the modules together in DTE to DCE configuration is made possible by using our serial and smart serial cable options. Older style serial (WIC-1T type) and newer style smart serial (WIC-2T type) can be used. Clocking is determined by the ends of the cable being wired as either DTE or DCE.

I have a PC using windows vista. I have a wireless adapter that works great. Going out my ethernet port is a crossover Cat6 cable to the Mac (mini). How can I get the internet to work on the mac. It makes an ip address, and subnet mask, but doesnt do anything else. Thanks in advance.

I was thinking about rewiring his power supply so that it short circuits and fries the motherboard. What do you think?

Attempting to connect two computers that are 40 feet apart, so both can access the internet. One machine is connected to the internet via DSL cable. Both machines are WinXP Home and have network wizards. Is this something I can do myself?

I have a gateway laptop and a dell computer which I wish to connect together for file sharing and gaming purposes. I have tried using a cat5 crossover cable with no success. I have no experience with home networking, so I need help from the ground up. A couple of problems I have encountered: when the cable is connected my laptop loses its wireless connection; the dell can see the gateway, but cannot access its shared files, however the gateway cannot see the dell at all. What i am trying to do turn a standard cat5 ethernet cable into a crossover so that i can hook up and host LAN game parties like Frozen Throne!

Well, I have a wireless laptop computer that’s connected to the internet via a wireless-g router (D-Link DI-524) and a non-connected desktop. Just as the title says how can i tell the difference between a crossover cable and a normal ethernet wire? I have alot of different wires and one of them is a crossover but i dont know what one is -.-

When connecting a PC to a Cisco 1231 access point Ethernet port, do I need a crossover cable? I don’t currently have flat or rolled cables to plug into the console port, but I do have straight-through and crossover cables. If I want to plug directly into the factory defaulted 1231, can I do it with a straight-through or do I have to have a crossover?
