Help with crossover cable between Windows 2000 Pro and Win 98?

Crossover cable to Xbox 360?

I have a CAT6 crossover cable connecting my Xbox 360 to a DLink Ethernet Switch, and the switch is connected a router using a CAT5E, which is connected to my modem using a CAT5E cable, by doing this my NAT type is now strict at my Xbox. I realize this is very much a (for lack of better words) clusterf***, but given my situation this is the only way I can see to route my internet, as the router doesn’t have enough ports to accommodate all the devices I have that use internet.

Can anyone give me a better solution, or maybe a way to make my NAT type be open at my Xbox?

Trying 2 connect 2 computers w/ cat5 crossover?

I’m trying to hook up my computer & my sister’s using cat5e crossover cable. I know about IP addresses, same subnet mask, same workgroup, etc. My computer sees hers in the workgroup, but can’t access it, and pinging does nothing. Her computer doesn’t see mine in the workgroup, but pings it fine. So why would the connection work only one way & not the other?
Ran the network setup wizard, got nothin’. And we’re trying to do this without a hub… I know for a fact I should just be able to do this with just a cable, yet for some reason it’s not working.
Running XP, not vista.
I completely turned off windows firewall, and neither of us are running any alternate programs… at this point, I’m using a flash drive to take the data off, even though it’s longer, because it seems to be the only thing that’s guaranteed to work.

How long can a crossover ethernet cable be?

How long can you directly connect two PCs using crossover ethernet cable without dysfunction?

I am using 60 ft and they don’t connect for some reason. If I connect them using a much shorter ready made cable they connect. It could be a faulty RJ45 crimping job, but before concluding this I want to make sure it is not because of the length.
Oh and I tried a new cable too (same length). Same problem.
Ready-made cables are not an option because I need to pull it through tight pipes/trunks.

What kind of Ethernet crossover cable do I need to connect two computers?

I’m planning on connecting my older computer to a new computer I intend to get soon, but don’t have yet. Is this a specific type of crossover cable I need? Some of them say CAT5E, some say CAT6, others say stuff like UTP-6200. I’m confused about these things. Does it matter or are they universal?

CAT5 vs CAT6 crossover cables?

I’m going to connect my computer to my PS3 and was told I needed a CAT5 crossover cable to do this. Would there be any difference in use from a CAT5 to a CAT6 or would it just be the same.
