Will the ethernet cord included with the 360 work for System Link? I’m not sure if it’s also a crossover cable or not.

Cat5e 350Mhz Ethernet Cord

I have a wireless USB, but my internet sometimes doesn’t work well with it. I mean, it takes forever to load a page. So I’m thinking of getting an ethernet cord for the internet. My question is, is there a particular type of cord I should use? I was checking online and i saw something called Cat5e, but don’t know if that would work or not. What’s a general ethernet cord for a router to computer connection? If it helps I use linksys.

I have a 20 gigabyte PS3 and it has no wireless just ethernet.I tried plugging the double-sided ethernet cord in.My Q is Can I get connection by plugging my non wireless PS3 to my wireless laptop.? I want to know, so I don’t waste 6 hours of my time of this.

I don’t want to waste 100 dollars on a wireless connection, and I saw that you can hook up Xbox Live using computers, but I have a laptop. Can someone help me with hooking this up with just an ethernet cord and a laptop (I have wireless connection anyways).

i want to transfer about 15gigs from one computer to the other well how would i do that using a ethernet cord (same cord as ones used for High Speed Internet)? i have no router but im sure there is some way i can go about this?
well another thing is that i have 2 laptops and there both on a wireless access point is there some way i can transfer the files wirelessly at all i dont have a crossover cable and im confused as hell so i dont know please give some advice.

So I borrowed a laptop from work to “work from home”. My IT guy said just take the ethernet cord out of my home computer (desktop) and put it into my laptop. Then I will be able to access the internet.
Its a yellow cord that says cat5. The head of it fits into the back of my laptop in a socket with a picture of three small rectangles (in a pyramid shape) and the light on it turns green.
But no internet! Ugh!
Am I doing something wrong?

How can i hook together 2 Ethernet cords to get 1 longer cord?

i was thinking of evemly utting the both at one end and hooking the wires together, becuase that works with lampls and stuff.

but i thought i would ask the question first, cuz i am not going to risk ruining the coords.

Can you transfer files from one computer to another through the ethernet cord? If not, besides copying to a disk, how can you do it?

I need to go buy a cord but I don’t know what it is called. It will connect in the back of our wireless (linksys) router to the computer (through a USB). So part of the cable is usb, the other half will fit into a “LAN PORT” on the back of the wireless router. What is this cord called?

On the XBOX360 cord that comes with the system, there are only 4 wires where on regular cat5e cords there are 8. There are still 8 pins however, which is a ethernet standard. any reason for the other 4 cords not to be there?

Its a very old computer ’99 and it runs windows 98. The computer recognizes the ethernet card (2 different ones), but when the software to to connect the computer to the modem is run it’s never successfull in connecting to the internet.

I have tried the Cat5e R7J604 cord on the wall and on a DSL/Phone line splitter. Both cords I have are too big for the jack.
