Wi-Fi IPAD vs. IPOD wifi connectivity. DHCP lease issue?
Comparing the iPad and iPod Wi-Fi Antennas. I believe this is a combination of power saving software and also DHCP lease times. How you hold it or how close you hold it to a wireless Router will NOT matter once it disconnects from a network. Even trying to connect to another network will not work until it is powered off, and then on again. (in my case)
Troubleshooting Internet Connectivity Issues – SolarWinds Video

Visualize African Connectivity
This “Internet Weather”-like map shows the network performance measured from Trieste Italy to African Universities, from April 2007 to March 2008. Darker red dots indicate higher speeds such as enabled by ADSL or better. Clearer, lighter red dots indicate lower speeds, in some cases as poor as 56kbps modems. If a site is unreachable its dot disappears, so flickering dots indicate fragility. If all dots disappear the measurement host experienced an outage. Africa’s network performance is over 10 years behind that of Europe and the US and falling further behind. These measurements are made by the international PingER project and provide hard evidence of the extent of the Digital Divide for planners and policy makers. Limited or no connectivity??? HELPP PLEASE?
Hi everyone!
So last friday my computer randomly stopped being able to access the internet after an unsuccessful installation of “Webroot Antivirus” (i got the b.s.o.d. when it got to 99%…). Everytime i try to connect to a network (this has happened both with my dad’s wireless router and the one at my mother’s house) it always comes up: Limited or no connectivity. it is very frustrating! i can’t access the internet at all: not wireless nor wired. here are the results from my “ipconfig/all”:

Getting 169.254.x.x ip for wired and wireless on Vista with no internet connectivity?
My laptop was working fine (connecting to internet via both wired and wireless) till I suddenly got the infamous :”blue screen” (didn’t note the error though
). The system restarted on its own and from then on I’d been getting 169.254.x.x ip address and not able to connect to internet (tried wired as well). This would mean that I’m not getting an ip from the DHCP server of my wireless router or my laptop is in a mess. All other laptops connected to the router were working fine.
I tried everything that’s posted on the net – tried static ip, netsh, disabled firewall and anti-virus, etc. Nothing worked.
The only thing that worked after a 10hr struggle was system restore. Imagine if i hadn’t enabled system restore – i would be terrible state.
What could have possibly gone wrong? Did the tcpip stack get corrupted for some reason or did Vista just had enough and decided not to connect?
Any help is appreciated.
Ethernet Connectivity Problem?
I have a computer running XP SP3, it is connected to the network using cat-5, not wireless, and it randomly decided to tell me my connection has limited or no connectivity. I can unplug the ethernet cable and plug it into my laptop, or another computer, and they get an IP address just fine, but when I plug it back into this computer, it will not get an IP address. Have tried removing the NIC and removing it from the Device Manager and reinstalled the drivers, all to no avail. Is there any known issues with the TCPIP stack in XP SP3? I use Windows 7 on my laptop, and have long since forgotten about XP and troubleshooting problems. Any help?

dspicdem.net 1 and dspicdem.net 2 Connectivity Development Boards
The dspicdem.net 1 and dspicdem.net 2 connectivity development boards provide the application developer a basic platform for developing and evaluating both connectivity and non-connectivity based requirements. The dspicdem.net board provides the hardware circuitry for supporting both the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and 10-Base T MAC/PHY interfaces. The PSTN interface hardware on the dspicdem.net 1 board is suited for FCC/JATE compliancy and CTR-21 compliancy is supported on dspicdem.net 2. The board comes with an ITU-T compliant V.22bis/V.22 modem demonstration module pre-programmed on the installed dspic30f6014 device. This demo, provided with full source code, enables the user to connect and transfer data between the dspic® Soft Modem (dspic SM) and an ITU-T compliant reference modem. The modem can be configured for either the originate or answer mode of operation. Configuration and control of the dspic SM demo is supported with an optimized AT command set which is entered into a suitable communication program running on the PC, such as hyperterminal, and communicated to the dspic device over a RS-232 serial channel. Also included are the CMX-micronet WEB and FTP Server programs which demonstrate two TCP/IP protocol based applications over the 10-Base T Ethernet Datalink layer. Features Key features of the dspicdem.net 1 and dspicdem.net 2 Connectivity Development Boards include the following: · dspic30f6014 Plug-in Sample · 10-Base T Ethernet MAC and PHY …

PPPOE Connection is active but there is no internet Connectivity?
This PPPOE connection does requires username and password. This connection authenticates (hand shake and all) and logs in just fine at 100 kpbs. But when the IE 7.0 browser is open, there is not actual connectivity. That famous “This page can not be display message” occurs. I open the computer and the network card is attached to the motherboard so I could not try the take out and put back trick.
I already did the usual check. Using a second computer with a similar configuration I was able to ascertain that, The cable is good, the Modem works fine and there is nothing wrong with my PPPOE settings.
So… Next I tried to repair the winsox and the Rebuild the TCP/IP Stack. I even tried using one of those “WinsockXPFix” utilities…. But nothing seem to work. I even redid the PPPOE from scratch but again it only conects but there is not actual Internet connectivity.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated. Again.. this same set up works fine on a different computer.
Can internet and xbox live ethernet cables be interchanged often without connectivity problems?
I am planning on getting xbox live for my xbox 360, but I do not have a router and my DSL modem only has one ethernet input. Can I interchange the internet and xbox cables whenever I want to use either one without connectivity problems with either device?
